BITSAT chapter wise weightage is not officially released by the conducting authority. However, it is determined based on previous years’ BITSAT papers. BITS Pilani only releases the subject-wise weightage for BITSAT.

Ques. What kind of questions are asked in BITSAT?

Ans. BITSAT question paper includes objective (Multiple Choice Questions). Each MCQ will have 4 options, and only 1 is correct. For each correct MCQ, you will get 3 marks, and for each incorrect MCQ, -1 mark will be deducted from your overall score.

Ques. Does everyone get different questions in BITSAT?

Ans. Yes, BITSAT is a computer-based adaptive test, meaning:

  • Each student gets a unique set of questions
  • Difficulty changes based on your performance.
  • If you answer correctly, tougher questions appear next; if you answer wrong, easier ones follow.

Ques. Is BITSAT chapter wise weightage same for each paper set?

Ans. No, As each paper set of BITSAT is different, so, the weightage varies accordingly. However, weightage across sections is the same for each paper set. BITSAT official brochure states,

“The questions will be selected at random from a large question bank. Different candidates will get different question sets. An expert committee will ensure that the question sets are of comparable difficulty level, content, question type, etc. In this matter, the decision of the expert committee will be final and binding on the candidate.”
