The NTA has released the exam dates for Re-NEET 2026; it is now scheduled for 21 June 2026, after the original exam was cancelled due to paper-leak concerns. More than 22 lakh candidates are expected to appear for the exam. The re-exam is necessary for all originally registered candidates to ensure fairness.
This announcement was made on the “official X account of the National Testing Agency (NTA)” on May 15, 2026. Fresh admit cards for the re-NEET 2026 will be issued on the official website 7-10 days before the exam.

Candidates now have 7 weeks from mid-May; they should focus on revising Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, using NCERT textbooks, especially for Biology and Chemistry, as their primary resource and practice through 2–3 mock tests each week.
- As per the Re-NEET 2026 exam pattern, the exam will be held in offline mode (pen-and-paper) for 3 hours, with 180 MCQs for a total of 720 marks.
- The paper will include 45 questions each from Physics and Chemistry (180 marks each) and 90 questions from Biology (360 marks).
- Candidates will receive +4 marks for every correct answer and -1 mark for every incorrect answer.
Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced that the “NEET 2027 exam will be conducted in CBT mode by the NTA from next year onward”. This major change in the exam format was announced alongside the revised date for the NEET 2026 re-exam. However, the NEET 2026 exam will continue to be conducted in the traditional pen-and-paper mode.
