The college offers numerous internship opportunities, featuring companies like NDTV India and BOA, covering roles in data analysis, HR, and social media marketing, with some leading to pre-placement offers (PPOs). Scholarships are available based on need and performance, and additional assistance was provided during the pandemic, such as laptops and internet packages. Course fees vary: Journalism - 27,190 INR, B.Com, Math, Comp Sci - 21,290 INR, Econ, Eng, Hindi, History, Philo, Pol Sc, Sanskrit, BAP - 16,390 INR, Stats - 21,590 INR, Psych - 17,890 INR, and Socio - 19,390 INR.

LSR Delhi: 1 Answered Question

Which is better: BA Hons. Journalism from Lady Shri Ram or Delhi College of Arts and Commerce?

Sakshi Gupta
Aritra ChowdhuryB.A Honours in History & Ancient Indian History, Culture & Archaeology, University of Delhi (2019)

B.A Hons. in Journalism from Lady Shri Ram College is definitely a better option than DCAC. It is way better in terms of campus, ranking, reputation, student crowd, etc. The cutoff required for the institute is also higher. So, you will be among competitive peers. If you don’t get LSR, try to get into other south-campus colleges. DCAC is not included in any of the DU campuses, which is a huge disadvantage.

Fees and Financial Aid:

The annual fee is Rs. 30,000 which is to be paid before the odd semester begins in one installment. The fee decreases a bit in the second year somewhere around 28,000. The fee structure remains same for all the categories like Gen, SC, ST, and OBC while the Pwd category gets a good waiver on the fees. Yes there are several aids for student offered by the university and college itself.

Fees and Financial Aid:

The course fees is approx 27k and it is affordable as journalism is a practical course and we are provided with various journalistic equipments like a soundproof studio , profesional camera , mic and mac book for editing. Thus in the price we are getting all the facilities other journalism colleges give and in addition we have extremely experienced faculty. In addition to low course price the department also provides financial assistance for example during the time of pandemic the college provided laptops and internet package to the students who couldn't afford it. The placement of our department is also really good. The seniors of our department has been placed very well. We also keep getting internship opportunity from the placement cell.

Department due to which also had to cancel our fest once due to lack od college support and other issues.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course syllabus was extensive and dispensed knowledge on all key areas of the journalism field. However, it lacked giving practical knowledge of this professional course to a great extent. Although our curriculum included major assignments like producing TV documentary, Radio documentary etc, we were not given good guidance to complete the process. Mostly, we had to figure out everything from script writing to video editing on our own. There was also a shortage of technical equipment given the batch sizes
