Ans. Many students manage an internship during the semester in ARSD. The class schedule is mostly structured, but not a very hectic type. Attendance rules are there, but it is manageable if students plan properly. ARSD Admission FAQs
Ques. If I take a gap year after Class 12, can I still apply to ARSD admission in 2026, and will I face any issues during the counselling process?
Ans. Gap year students are allowed in ARSD admission if the CUET score is valid and the eligibility criteria is fullfilled. DU does not reject students just because of a gap year. During CSAS counselling document are checked properly, but the gap year affidavit is mostly accepted. Many students with a gap year also get a seat if the cutoff is clear and preference filling is done correctly.
Ques. If I get a lower preference college first, can I upgrade to ARSD later because I want better courses and college through CSAS rounds?
Ans. Upgradation option is available in DU CSAS counselling rounds. If a higher preference like ARSD is filled above and the cutoff is matched in the next round, then the seat can be upgraded. Old seats get cancelled automatically. Students need to be very careful while filling preference list. Cutoff changes every round, so patience and the correct order of choice matter a lot.

ARSD Cutoff FAQs
Ques. If I score slightly below last year's ARSD cutoff, do I still have a chance in later CSAS rounds or special rounds for science courses?
Ans. Yes chance in later rounds because the cutoff changes every round. Science and applied science courses usually drop more compared to commerce courses. Many seats remain vacant in later rounds,s so the cutoff becomes more flexible. Special rounds also help students who have borderline scores. Preference filling should be done correctly, and waiting till the last rounds is very important.
Ques. If I belong to the reserved category, how much cutoff relaxation can I expect for ARSD, and does it really help in top courses like B.Com or MA?
Ans. Reserved category students get cutoff relaxation as per the DU rule. This relaxation helps many students to get ARSD seats even in high demand course. Still, competition remains strong in B.Com and MA courses. The category cutoff also change round wise. Ans. Placement support in ARSD is available for all streams, not only for commerce students. Arts and science students also geta chance to sit in a placement drive, but the job role option may differ. Many students use the placement cell mainly for exposure, and later apply off-campus also. Skill building, internship and extra courses play a big role in the final placement result.
Ques. If I want a higher package from ARSD, what extra things should I focus on during college years apart from academics only?
Ans. Higher packages mostly depend on skill more than college name. Students who do an internship, certification, case competition and society work get a better chance. ARSD Ranking FAQs
Ques. If I see ARSD ranking improving every year, should I trust the ranking more or focus on course and department quality before choosing a college?
Ans. Ranking give overall idea, but it should not be the only factor. ARSD ranking is good because of academics, placement and faculty combined. But students should also check the specific department strength. Some courses perform better than others. Seniors' feedback, syllabus and opportunities matter more than just the number in the ranking list.
Ques. If I choose ARSD mainly because of NIRF ranking, will it really help me in future jobs or higher studies admission?
Ans. NIRF ranking helps in creating a good impression, but it does not guarantee a job or admission. ARSD name adds value on a resume, but student performance matters more. Companies and universities see skills, marks and experience. Ranking helps in shortlisting sometimes, but the final selection depends on the student's effort and profile.

ARSD FAQs
Ques. Does ARSD allow students to change course or stream internally after the first year if interest change or their performance improves later?
Ans. ARSD normally do not allow easy internal course change after admission. DU rules for migration or course change are very strict. Some rare cases depend on vacancy and university permission. Students should choose courses carefully during CSAS preference filling. Depending only on later change is risky and mostly not possible in a practical situation.
Ques. Is attendance very strict at ARSD, and can low attendance create problems during the exam or internal assessment marking?
Ans. Attendance rules exist in ARSD like other DU colleges. Some departments are strict while others are a little more flexible. Low attendance can create issues during internal marks or exam form filling. Students usually manage by attending regular classes and informing the teacher in genuine cases. Completely ignoring attendance can cause unnecessary academic problems.
Ques. Are research projects, field work or practical exposure given importance at ARSD or is the study mostly classroom-based only?
Ans. ARSD focus on classroom teaching, but project work and practical exposure also exist. Science students do lab work regularly, arts students get assignments and field work sometimes. Many teachers encourage seminar and research-based learning. Exposure depends a lot on the department and the teacher's interest, not the same for every course.
Ques. Do ARSD students get opportunities for exchange programs, workshops or DU-level academic events outside the regular syllabus?
Ans. ARSD students get chances to attend DU seminars, workshops and academic fest. The college also host conference and guest lectures sometimes. Exchange programs are limited, but workshop exposure is decent. Students who actively follow notice and teacher guidance get more opportunities. A passive student may miss such chances easily without active involvement.
Ques. Is ARSD considered good for students preparing for competitive exams like UPSC, NET or MBA along with graduation studies?
Ans. ARSD is suitable for students preparing for competitive exams because the schedule is not extremely hectic. Many student preparefor UPSC, NET or CAT along with classes. The library environment and peer support help a lot. However, self-discipline is very important. College supports indirectly, but the main preparation depends fully on the student's effort.
