Remarks

Since LSR falls under Delhi university the eligibility criteria was same as other delhi university colleges we had to meet the cut off decided by the college. The application form was available on delhi university's website and it costs only 100 rs , the date was 20 june and we had enough time to fill application form later after the cut off was released we had to reapply in the college we wanted . The reservation benefits did not made much difference as the competition was too high this time, but it did gave many northeasterns the chance to enter delhi university . The only improvement I would suggest is more clear and detailed guidelines regarding the cut off as there is too much confusion in calculating marks as there are certain subjects that we can't include in our main percentage calculations.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I chose journalism because journalism has always interested me and I chose LSR for journalism because it is one the best Government Colleges for opting journalism. The professors are extremely talented and have great experience in journalism field. Having many years of experience in the field of journalism the professors are very knowledgeable and are able to amazingly impart practical knowledge. The department has 5 teaching faculty which is enough has there are few students in our department. The term exams are not difficult to pass as most questions are bases on practical knowledge. The faculty provides proper guidance not only in the area of academics but also in any other area of life if we need help from them they are always there for us

Internships Opportunities

5

There are hundreds of internship opportunities available with college. Some are unpaid and some are paid. Intership opportunities like campus ambassador , social media marketing and Data analysts are abundant. Students even get internship as an HR. Some company names are , drivekraft , wizaru, student corner , MUN , hindustan times , dainik jagran etc.

Placement Experience

4

Students of all years are eligible to get intership from placement cell. But only 3rd year students can sit for placement at big companies. Almost 60% of students gets placed and the highest package goes till 10L . Companies like cry baby and many more famous and well known company visit the college. I also plan to appear for proper placement in my final year.

Fees and Financial Aid

The course fees is approx 27k and it is affordable as journalism is a practical course and we are provided with various journalistic equipments like a soundproof studio , profesional camera , mic and mac book for editing. Thus in the price we are getting all the facilities other journalism colleges give and in addition we have extremely experienced faculty. In addition to low course price the department also provides financial assistance for example during the time of pandemic the college provided laptops and internet package to the students who couldn't afford it. The placement of our department is also really good. The seniors of our department has been placed very well. We also keep getting internship opportunity from the placement cell.

Campus Life

5

The campus is very happening , the environment of the college gives a chance of developing personality. The college enviornment is best for boosting up confidence. The administration doesn't places much restriction on Students so there are various activities going around college . There are numerous societies and clubs in college and anyone can use the area of cafe to project their talent or their societies work. The fine arts society is even allowed to paint the walls of the college so that they can showcase their skills to the whole college. There is a area with mirrors so that the dance society can practice there and in the amphi stairs all students sit together and do jamming sessions. The environment is very positive around the. Campus. And the fests are amazing and each society or club holds their fests seperately and whole college can visit their fest. The students have also setup NGOs like Myra which provides free tutoring to children with poor economic background.

Placement Experience:

Placement in Kirori Mal College is very good, other course is history based and side course is also based. Right now it is my 1st year so I have not yet made any rounds to any company for placement. Not everyone gets placement, at least not in high percentage. I have not thought much about this topic, so I cannot tell you anything about it right now.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum of the history honours course,is vast and comprehensive, which provides you the comprehensive knowledge of the History, from ancient, mediaeval and modern Indian history,to history of japan, china, usa and modern west and europe. So I chose this course because of my interest in history and my future planning for upsc, this course prepares you well in history for upsc. The teaching method can be improved in terms of that it should more discussion based rather than old methods. There are final theory exams per semester or per six months,so exams are quite easy if you studied well in the semester, and timings are quite good.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In this era of corrosive politics which believes in the wake of wear and tear, I personally believe the utility of my subject is quite exemplary. The curriculum is not mine or any of my professor's decision. It changes according to the shifts in power. The major focus of history honours' curriculum is just India, henceforth making it a viable option for people preparing for competitive exams, but somewhere, all of us studying the course know that the lack of interdisciplinarity and just focusing on its academic niche ingroups is necessary to be looked upon. Exams happen on a biannual basis calling these phenomenon as the end of one semester, which happens twice in each academic year.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course is a very different and unheard course of our country. Philosophy is not so prevalent in India as of now . On the contrary it is as popular in West as medical in India. So it is quite difficult when it comes to an understanding of the subject through indian lens. The curriculum includes western philosophy, Logic, Fundamentals of Philosophy, Social and Political Philosophy, etc., which covers almost all disciplines like political science, law, history, sociology, reasoning, etc. The books we are provided as study material are original writings of philosophers and Oxford translations, which makes it even harder to cop up with. The exam level is also quite difficult because you can never study a week before and get 9 Cgpa.
