Course Curriculum Overview

4

DU has added all types of courses like VAC, SEC, AEC This forces us to study subjects not even related to our course taking precious time away from our core curriculum. This stops us from getting involved in our core subjects

Fees and Financial Aid

16660 was the fees and so far it hasn't been increased. It's extremely affordable. The quality of education is excellent in the institution given the cost that one is paying. College has green lawns, 4 canteens, library and other facilities.

Campus Life

4

There are various clubs in Miranda House. It offers involvements like NCC, NSS and various other clubs. Some of these clubs are as old as the college itself. There are theatre, music, public speaking, dance, business related clubs

Admission

Our colleges comes under delhi university. This requires us to take admission through CUET CUET- common university entrance test I chose Miranda House as its ranked very high on NIRF ranking and has a history of legacy attached to it. The quality of education here compares to no other college

Faculty

4

They are very educated, with most of them holding a PHD and are specialists in their field. The situation although is the same in all colleges with you having to put in more effort from your side to gain knowledge

Night Life

5

The college is situated in north campus area of Delhi which is near Kamla Nagar and Hudson lane, these are vibrant part of student life at delhi university. With the metro connectivity, all other places are also accessible to students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course is a very different and unheard course of our country. Philosophy is not so prevalent in India as of now . On the contrary it is as popular in West as medical in India. So it is quite difficult when it comes to an understanding of the subject through indian lens. The curriculum includes western philosophy, Logic, Fundamentals of Philosophy, Social and Political Philosophy, etc., which covers almost all disciplines like political science, law, history, sociology, reasoning, etc. The books we are provided as study material are original writings of philosophers and Oxford translations, which makes it even harder to cop up with. The exam level is also quite difficult because you can never study a week before and get 9 Cgpa.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Specific aspects of curriculum that influence my decision the course was quite helpful for anyone who wants to pursue upsc. The curriculum has well round concepts of economics, policy making also contemporary debates which are applicable in real world. Teaching methods can be more practical based, classroom discussion, debates areas of improvement should be incorporated multiple disciplinary approach elements of economics, international relations in dept. The frequency and timings of exams are not that difficult in my perspective gaps are provided before the commencement of exams also between the exams for each subjects.
