UCEED 2026 BDes admission involves five rounds of seat allotment across seven participating institutes: IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Indore, IIT Roorkee, and IIITDM Jabalpur.

Round 1 seat allotment was announced on April 21, 2026, with candidates required to accept seats and pay fees by April 29, 2026.

Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates will receive ₹10,000 after the same deductions.

Importantly, candidates who paid the seat acceptance fee in Rounds I and II can withdraw till the Round II withdrawal end date (June 9, 2026) for claiming refunds.

Freeze vs. Float Options Explained

During the seat acceptance process, candidates who received their first choice of institute can either accept (freeze) or decline the offer.

Candidates receiving their second, third, fourth, or fifth choice can select between freeze (accepting and exiting further rounds) or float (accepting while remaining eligible for higher preference institutes in subsequent rounds).

The float option remains active until the payment end date of Round IV (June 28, 2026), allowing candidates flexibility to upgrade their seat allocation.

Withdrawals during prescribed schedules for Rounds III and IV do not entitle candidates to refunds.

Important Refund and Withdrawal Rules

All candidates who paid the seat acceptance fee in Rounds I and II can withdraw until the Round II withdrawal deadline (June 9, 2026, 6:00 PM) and claim refunds.

However, seat acceptance fees paid in Rounds III, IV, and V will not be refunded under any circumstances. Candidates must exercise extreme caution and avoid fraudulent communications; only information from the official UCEED website (uceed.iitb.ac.in) should be trusted.

IIT Bombay strongly advises candidates to pay the seat acceptance fee well before the deadline to avoid last-minute transaction issues.

What’s Next for Students
