The Department of Higher Education Punjab has released the UG Final Merit List 2026 at admission.punjab.gov.in. Round 1 counselling runs from June 19 to 26, followed by Round 2 from June 27 to July 3, 2026.

The Department of Higher Education Punjab (DHE Punjab) has issued the UG Final Merit List 2026. The list is now live on the centralised portal at admission.punjab.gov.in. Round 1 counselling and admission begin today, June 19, 2026.
The merit list decides college and course allotment for UG candidates. Round 2 follows Round 1 directly to fill remaining seats. The full schedule is shared in the table below.

Colleges and Universities on the Punjab Portal
The portal covers 61 government colleges and 54 private state colleges. All are affiliated to three major state universities of Punjab.
Partner universities include Guru Nanak Dev University and Punjab University Patiala. Panjab University Chandigarh is the third partner institution. Streams on offer include arts, science, commerce, BCA, and BBA programmes.
How to Check Punjab UG Merit Status 2026?
Candidates who registered on the portal can check their merit status online. The merit list shows allotted colleges, courses, and candidate ranks. Follow the steps below to view your status.

Registration Fee and Reserved Category Notes
Candidates pay a registration fee of Rs 200 on the portal. The fee covers application to all linked colleges in one window. Reserved category seats are allotted as per Punjab state quota rules.
SC and BC candidates must also upload caste and current-year income certificates. Candidates from outside Punjab may face limited seat options. Always check the prospectus of your chosen college on the portal.
What Happens After Round 1 Counselling?
Candidates who miss Round 1 can apply in Round 2. Vacant seats from Round 1 are released for fresh allotment. The same merit list and portal are reused.
Open counselling is the final stage of admission. It allows direct admission against any seats still vacant. The fee deposit window also closes on the last open counselling day.
The centralised portal lets one application reach over 115 colleges. Candidates avoid running between universities for separate forms. Counselling, document checks, and fee payment all happen on one site.
