Additionally, the institution recognizes the importance of supporting students financially and offers various avenues for scholarships, financial assistance, and campus employment opportunities.
Faculties are highly experienced with great knowledge and some of them have good teaching and mentorship style.
The classes are also very nice, the library is beautiful, well organized and peaceful.

Dislikes

We get information about scholarships, they are not interested in giving scholarships to poor students like us.
I disliked the lack of facilities in college sports, or music room facilities gym and all and mess is also not good
There is one almirah and one table and one bed provided in the hostel but the mess is really not good which was a problem in every college.

NIT DURGAPUR - A review

Likes

Hostels and Classes are well managed and clean
Placements are very good and almost all of our batch got placed

Dislikes

Library is not available 24/7 for students which is a problem
Night canteens are not available for students which is very much neeeded

Placement Experience:

Placements are pretty good, better than most other colleges. Average package offered is more than ten lakhs per annum. highest packages are from microsoft and atlassian , more than fifty lakhs per annum.

My Nit Life At Durgapur

college life and study culture. Relation between students and teachers.

Dislikes

sometimes voices of students are not heard by teachers.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The reason i choose the course was beacuse i have always been a computer fanatic and the cse and a very bright future ahead. The faculty is very nice and the ration of boys and girls is more the boys side. All the teachers have a great amount of knowledge in their fields and most of them funds research. The exams happens manily 3 times a semester. The first is CA for 15 marks , mid sem for 25 marks and end sem for 60 marks. The exams are not that difficult you attend the lecture or gather your information for elsewhere as teachers encourage us to gather information from not only in classes but by books and other mediums too.

SOME PROFESSOR ARE VERY STRICK. THEY GIVE VERY LESS MARKS
SCHLORSHIP DEPERTMENT STAFF ARE VERY LASY. NEED MANY TIME FOR SCHLORSHIP VARIFICATION.

Placement Experience:

1. 6 SEMESTER STUDENTS ARE ALSO ELIGIBLE FOR A FEW PLACEMENT COMPANY. 2. RELIANCE, HCL, TATA, TCS, PHYCISWALA, AKASH. 3. THE HIGHEST PACKAGE IS 80 LPA AND THE AVERAGE PACKAGE IS 6 LPA 4. 60% STUDNET GOT PACED.

Thriving at NIT DURGAPUR: My Journey Through Academics, Campus Life, and Beyond

Likes

I liked it's campus and many activities which arranged by the clubs on the weekend
Some of the hostels of campus is very old it's made of 1960.
Campus life is also very chill along with study no more academic

Dislikes

Nothing to do innovative and creative with academic study
Placement records till now is also good every years 85 to 90 percentage records with average package between 12 to 15 lpa
Infrastructure is very good and course and materials availablity is very good

Course Curriculum Overview:

1.I choosed the metallurgical and materials Engineering Department in Nit DGP. I interested in study the concept of metals and its properties because its use in real world for building infrastructure and its very important to development for technology. 2. Faculty are very good with behavior and knowledge in their specific field. Ratio for faculty to student in the college is 1:21. 3. Faculty qualification is Nit/iit PHD and many of also from took degree from foreign institution.

Likes

College campus is so beautiful and lot's have options to eat.
From 3rd year you have freedom to leave and entry in college as per your wish
Seniors are helpful and will guide you .

Dislikes

Professors will no help you for your placements
Lots of classes and labs and very few holidays
You have to pay hostel fees either you stay or not

Placement Experience:

Internships are less but placements are good. From 5th sem you are eligible for internships but from 7th you are eligible for placements . I can't tell the name of each company but you have lots of companies to choose but maintain your CGPA Highest 70 lakh per annum and average 13.6 lakh per annum

There are various sightseeing present near NIT campus like City Center

Dislikes

Hostel rooms are very average and mess food quality need to be improve.

Placement Experience:

Placement season starts from our 7th semester . Companies like Microsoft, Oracle,JPMC, Natwest, Wells Fargo, PWC ,Deloitte, ITC, BPCL etc visit our campus in every year. highest package is around 51LPA. More than 85 percent students get placed in every academic year.

Monumental Journey of my College Life

Likes

Friend circle which includes assistance and group studies
Faculties who are available most of the time to help us anytime
Good transportation facility to and from college campus

Dislikes

Competitive environment which leads to peer pressure
Relationships which end up doing nothing and are simply just a waste of time
Hostels are just a waste of money and ruins the environment of College life

Placement Experience:

In Final year, students are allowed to sit for placements. Average package for my branch (MME) is 8 LPA and maximum package is 14 LPA. I am planning to do job for some years and then pursue my PG and PhD after few years of gaining job experience.

NIT DURGAPUR...WHAT AND WHAT NOT?

Likes

Courses, Life Style, Placements and also the main part you will make friends who will last forever.
Hostel life with friends , late night parties with friends.
Foods in the campus, and you can meets a special person like girlfriend or boyfriend who will help you grow, but choose carefully.

Dislikes

Many Assignments will be given by the faculty members.
Due to recession the placements are not better this year.
The freedom should be more in the campus.

Placement Experience:

Placements are the best part of NITs and IITs. Oncampus placemets are organized by CDC, top tech companies lik Microsoft, Wells Fargo, Morgan Stanley, BNY Mellon and any other. Average package varies but as a guess from 10 LPA to 15 LPA will be the avg package.

Insight-NIT Durgapur

The good things in NIT Durgapur is, here you get the opportunity to learn different types of things , you get touch from different people from India , so always you learn new things from new people.
You always get the opportunity learn the technology in very practical and proper way from the tech society/club.
You can get opportunity to learn different soft skills .

Dislikes

The hostel and mess facility is not that much good , so the authority should improve it.
The 75% attendance criteria is not good because some times students are not interested in the class ,but forcefully he has to attend the class , so i think the student who is not interested in the class he can explore his own things in this time.
Some People who are in the administrative department are so rude with the students.

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester, placement season starts.There different types of company like manufucturing, IT- product and service based both /management /consultancy etc. Some Recruiter companies are PWC ,Microsoft ,Oracle ,deloitte, JPMC, JSW, Reliance etc. The highest package is 55L -60L, avarage package is 10L-13L per annum.every year 80-85% people get placed in our campus.if someone get no placment ,then She / He has the opportunity for higher studies from This collage or may prapare for some other exam like GATE/CAT/UPSC etc. My plans after doing degree is just to start a job in a good company.

Placements are very good compared to other colleges.

Dislikes

Fee structure is not good for open category there is vast difference between them and others.
Food is worst in the state , hostel everywhere. If you want to join forget about food.

Placement Experience:

Internships placement starts from the end of 2nd year and go upto 4th year 1st Sem. Placements start from end of 3rd year and go through the 4th year. There are nearly 160+ companies visiting you can go to nit Durgapur official website nitdgp.ac.in and check in the placement section . You will get a pdf list of companies and students placed. There is nearly 98% placement from our branch and nearly 90% above for college.

Here is a detailed review shared by my brother who completed his graduation from NIT Durgapur

Infrastructure: Honestly, the infrastructure isn’t all that great but will provide all the basic amenities necessary for a good academic environment.
Faculty: Most students have to resort to self-study because the professors are not very passionate about teaching. However, if you do good projects under a professor, you may be able to pursue a master's in a foreign university.
Placements: NIT Durgapur has recorded excellent placements. This year the highest CTC offered was INR 70 LPA while the average salary offered was INR 13.64 LPA. The top recruiters included TCS Ninja, PwC, ICICI Bank, Microsoft, and many others. More than 100 recruiters participated in the placement drive and 633 students were placed.
Opportunities: The NIT tag will open a number of opportunities for you and the alumni network is also quite extensive. You can also avail opportunities like workshops and clubs.
Campus life: The campus life is very active with many fun-filled events like the freshers' farewell party and celebration of regional festivals. Additionally, a number of cultural and technical fests are also held.
Administration : The administration is very slow and is not cooperative. You might face some issues.
Location : NIT Durgapur faces no major connectivity issues. The railway station is 30 mins or 14 km away while the nearest airport is at Andal, which isn't well connected, so Kolkata Airport will be a better option. You can find the Auto rickshaw stand just at the main gate.
