Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Although i wanted to pursue Bcom h but due to my preference sheet i got this college and course combination. But the course is not so bad it have quite a value and the college faculty is also very supportive and guiding.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure of our college is really great one of the most affordable graduation even in the DU itself which is already very affordable for all kinds of students. Anyone can pursue campus jobs if wants a side income or to support family there is no restrictions by the college.

Campus Life

2.5

The campus life is truly easy to interact with seniors and classmates. There is also a annual fest conducted every year near Diwali. The infrastructure is not so fascinating at all the old campus of the college is too poorly build and managed but in case of new campus the story is totally opposite.

Admission

The admission process was really quick and convenient from both university and college sides. I got B.A. Prog (Eco + Maths) in 575/800 in round 3 of counselling. For general category anyone can get admission from 400 or above in earlier round or for sure in the later rounds and for reserved categories they can take around 320 or more

DU has added all types of courses like VAC, SEC, AEC This forces us to study subjects not even related to our course taking precious time away from our core curriculum. This stops us from getting involved in our core subjects

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course is a very different and unheard course of our country. Philosophy is not so prevalent in India as of now . On the contrary it is as popular in West as medical in India. So it is quite difficult when it comes to an understanding of the subject through indian lens. The curriculum includes western philosophy, Logic, Fundamentals of Philosophy, Social and Political Philosophy, etc., which covers almost all disciplines like political science, law, history, sociology, reasoning, etc. The books we are provided as study material are original writings of philosophers and Oxford translations, which makes it even harder to cop up with. The exam level is also quite difficult because you can never study a week before and get 9 Cgpa.

Campus placements here start here around beginning of final year for all. This is a four years program but for those who don't want to go for research can apply for placements in the third year and once they are done they can end their course in the third year itself.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Specific aspects of curriculum that influence my decision the course was quite helpful for anyone who wants to pursue upsc. The curriculum has well round concepts of economics, policy making also contemporary debates which are applicable in real world. Teaching methods can be more practical based, classroom discussion, debates areas of improvement should be incorporated multiple disciplinary approach elements of economics, international relations in dept. The frequency and timings of exams are not that difficult in my perspective gaps are provided before the commencement of exams also between the exams for each subjects.

Internship opportunities are provided all year round by Career Opportunity Cell for students of all years. For Jobs, usually 3rd year students are eligible. While internships are for varied fields, jobs usually come in for Bcom students, but more opportunities are there during placement season for all courses. Placement season is usually around end of 3rd year.
