Remarks

I joined LICET by Anna University Counselling. I tried to join MIT Chrompet, got Computer Science Engineering over there for my cut-off. Since I am more passionate about mechanical Engineering, I selected LICET. Actually, it is a good choice!!

Course Curriculum Overview

I choose Mechanical Engineering since I am passionate about machines and automobiles. Yeah, for each Theory paper we have a separate staff and for lab, we will be having a Technical staff and Lab Instructor Most of the staff are Ph.D. holders and some young Master's degree holders will also be lecturers. All the exams are according to Annauniversity valuation metrics and internal will be uploaded as you scored in the paper. The planning and implementation of all the activities like Academics, Sports, Cultural, Internships are really really good.

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 40000 per year

Internships Opportunities

I got an internship in Hyundai, where I completed my final year project. Also got an internship in Skill-Lync with a stipend, later converted as an Employee. I am also a part of Team Turbonites, a very enthusiastic Kart building team. We fabricate Baja, Go-kart, Bicycle, E-Scooter,etc. It is a platform to apply Engineering in the actual world.

Placement Experience

from the 7th semester, students are eligible for placements. I got placed in my final semester. One of my friend placed in Alstom with 6LPA. Most of the students of LICET will opt for Higher studies. There will be a good opportunity for the students who opted for placements, getting placed will be in the hands of the student.

Fees and Financial Aid

There will be some Jesuit Scholarships, Central and State Government Scholarships. The periodic announcements will be given regularly, on how to avail of Scholarships. LICET helped me to do final year project in Hyundai I got an internship in Skill-Lync with a stipend, and later become an Employee

Campus Life

'Engenia' is the platform to showcase and develop our Non-Technical Talents. Symposium will help to develop the Technical stuff, organizing, and Team building activities. Classroom facilities and labs will have a cool atmosphere.

Best of my LICET college

Placement Experience:

From 6th semester itself students are eligible for campus interviews, i visited cap Gemini, wipro,tech Mahindra, these three companies i visited ,and the average package of this company is 5lpa ,in my college more than 80 percent students got placement, and another students opted for higher studies.I also opted for my higher studies.

As the college is located near the IT hub so lot of opportunities are there and many companies come to hire the students like BOSCH, SAMSUNG, ONEBILL, INCTURE etc. and they provide very good package also. The average package is 10 lacs.

From the 6th sem students become eligible for campus placement. Capgemini,Wibro, TCS.... these kind of companies come for a campus placement. Almost 70% of students got placement in TCS, Capgemini. Students who have 60% with no standing arrears are going to attend the placement. I got a campus placement in 2020 after corona I joined that company.

In my view, I studied mechanical engineering but for mechanical engineering students they suggested the bpo jobs how fair it is .that is the only problem that college administration needs to watch more about the employability of the students and concentration on the work

Good college for low fees

Placement Experience:

I am studying in the first year so I don't know much about placement details. But faculties said that students get placed in on-campus as well as in an off-campus interview. I planned to get placed in a company.

My Review

Placement Experience:

Placement is excellent. From the third year itself, you will be getting ready for your placements by preparing the resume and placement coordinators will practice you by a model interview, this will give you an idea of presenting yourself and also they will provide the feedback on your performance to improve your skills. In my IT department, Half of them got placed, some entrepreneurs, some pursuing higher studies in abroad (US, France, Australia, London). Generally, 7.5 CGPA and above with nil number of arrears allowed for all placements. but some companies will mention the eligibility criteria for the job role. Maximum companies will not allow more than 2 arrears but if the company says arrears, not an issue you will be allowed for the drive. 3 rounds: 1. Aptitude- to check the mathematical skills 2. Group Discussion- To check the communication skills 3. Technical round/personal interview- To check your technical skills like coding(dept wise) and your personality. The resume speaks the most.

Loyola-ICAM College of Engineering and Technology is the best Christian institute located in the centre of the city. Admission Interviews will be done by the Heads of the Department. During the interview, students will be evaluated performance, behaviour, communication, and relevant answers. If the student is selected in the interview, then based on the student's interest department will be allocated. Management fixes the fees for management Quota and the students coming from merit list under Anna University, the payment of the fee will be as per government rules. Reason for preferring this college is the best infrastructure, placements, Equal importance for sports, academics and cultural and during the end of the second year LICET will offer you summer internship program in France, Friendly staffs. Loyola-ICAM engineering college is located at the heart of the city which is very good thing for the students as most of the engineering colleges in Chennai are located at the outskirts of the city.
