Dr B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jalandhar has opened applications for its Master of Business Administration (MBA) Self-Sponsored programme for the 2026-2028 session. Candidates can apply online through the official website nitj.ac.in with an application fee of Rs. 1,000 (Rs. 500 for SC/ST/PWD applicants). The last date for online application submission is June 3, 2026.
The MBA programme is offered by the Department of Humanities and Management on an all-India basis with specializations in Finance, Human Resource Management, and Marketing. A total of 15 self-sponsored seats are available across categories: Open/UR (6), OBC-NCL (4), SC (2), ST (1), and EWS (2), with 5% horizontal reservation for PWD applicants in each category. Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree from a recognized institute/university in any stream with a minimum of 60% marks (or 6.5 CGPA) for Open/OBC-NCL/EWS applicants and 55% marks (or 6.0 CGPA) for SC/ST/PWD applicants. Applicants appearing in their final year can also apply but must fulfill all eligibility requirements by the stipulated deadline. Only the primary mode of evaluation (CGPA or percentage) mentioned on the qualifying degree certificate will be considered; conversions are not permitted.
How to Apply for NIT Jalandhar MBA Self-Sponsored Admission 2026?
- Applicants must register on the official MBA admission portal at nitj.ac.in using a valid email address.
- After registration, candidates fill the online application form and upload scanned copies of required documents including qualifying degree certificate, entrance exam scorecard, mark sheets, category certificate (if applicable), and character certificate.
- The application fee must be paid online; incomplete applications or those received after the deadline will not be considered.
Candidates with valid percentile scores from CAT, CMAT, or MAT can directly appear for group discussion and personal interview rounds. Those without valid test scores must appear in NIT Jalandhar's institute test scheduled for June 2026.
The selection weightage comprises 70% entrance exam score, 15% group discussion performance, and 15% personal interview marks. Minimum cutoff for the institute test is 40% for general category and 35% for reserved categories.
Candidates must submit original and two self-attested copies of all certificates during counselling including qualifying degree/provisional degree certificate, entrance exam scorecard with percentile, mark sheets, matriculation certificate with date of birth, 10+2 result card, character certificate from last attended institute, medical fitness certificate, migration certificate, and category certificate (if applicable). Four passport-size and two stamp-size photographs are also mandatory for the admission process.

Candidates must report in person at the Department of Humanities and Management, 3rd Floor Management and Science Block, NIT Jalandhar on the counselling date. Attendance is compulsory; applicants failing to report by 12 noon will be marked absent and their seat will be allotted to the next candidate in the merit list. Seats are allotted from the common merit list based on entrance exam scores, group discussion, and interview performance combined.
