Over 1.86 lakh candidates appeared for IISER IAT 2026 on June 7, contesting 2,343 BS-MS seats across seven IISERs. The result is expected in the fourth week of June at iiseradmission.in. The objection window runs from June 9 to 13.
The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Berhampur (IISERB) will release the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) 2026 result soon. The scorecard will appear at the official portal, iiseradmission.in, in the fourth week of June 2026.
Over 1.86 lakh candidates appeared for the test on June 7, 2026. They competed for only 2,343 BS-MS seats across the seven IISERs.
The exam was conducted at 736 centres across the country. IISER Berhampur organised the national-level test for the first time this year.
The provisional answer key went live on the exam day itself. Candidates can compare their marked responses with the official key on the portal.
The student response sheet was scheduled for release on June 9, 2026. The objection window will stay open until June 13, 2026.

About the IISER BS-MS Programme
The BS-MS is a five-year integrated dual-degree science programme. It combines a Bachelor of Science with a Master of Science.
Students get research exposure from the first year onwards. They can major in physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics or earth sciences.
The seven IISERs are autonomous institutes under the Ministry of Education. They aim to promote quality science education and research in India.
IISER IAT 2026 Exam Pattern
The IAT 2026 was a three-hour computer-based test. The paper ran from 9 am to 12 noon on Sunday.
The question paper carried 60 multiple-choice questions in total. Each of the four subjects had 15 questions of equal weight.

Participating IISERs and Other Institutes
The BS-MS programme is offered at seven IISERs. These are located in Berhampur, Bhopal, Kolkata, Mohali, Pune, Thiruvananthapuram and Tirupati.
Several other institutes also accept the IAT score for admissions. Major names include IISc Bengaluru, IIT Madras and IIT Guwahati.
IIEST Shibpur and IACS Kolkata also use IAT scores. Candidates can apply to select science programmes at these institutes.
How to Raise an Objection Against the Answer Key?
Candidates dissatisfied with any answer can challenge it on the portal. The objection window stays open between June 9 and June 13, 2026.
- Log in to iiseradmission.in with the application number and password.
- Open the answer key challenge section on the dashboard.
- Select the disputed question and upload supporting proof.
- Pay the non-refundable processing fee for each challenged question.
- Save the acknowledgement page for future reference.
The final answer key will reflect only the accepted challenges. The result is prepared based on this revised key.
How to Download the IISER IAT 2026 Scorecard?
Candidates can follow these steps once the result is live:
- Visit the official portal at iiseradmission.in.
- Click on the IAT 2026 result link on the homepage.
- Log in using the application number and password.
- The scorecard will appear on the screen.
- Download the scorecard and save a printout for admission rounds.
What Happens After the Result?
The merit list and counselling schedule will follow the result. Seat allotment is based on the All India Rank and category quota.
Selected candidates must complete document verification and pay the acceptance fee. Final admission depends on meeting all stated eligibility norms.
IISER Berhampur conducted the IAT for the first time in 2026. It was set up in 2016 as the seventh IISER in the country.
