The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur, as the coordinating body, has released the admission policy for the Joint Admission Process (JAP) 2026. The registration portal for candidates seeking admission to the MBA programs at IIM Raipur, IIM Kashipur, IIM Ranchi,and IIM Tiruchirappalli has been activated on December 26, 2025, on the official website.

The admission process is for the two-year flagship Master of Business Administration (MBA) program. There is no separate application fee for JAP 2026 registration. Candidates who have already paid the CAT 2025 registration fee and opted for these four IIMs are eligible to register on the common portal without any additional cost.

IIM JAP 2026 Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the JAP 2026 process, a candidate must:

CAT 2025 Score: Have appeared for the CAT 2025 exam and secured the minimum required percentile.
Academic Record: Hold a Bachelor’s Degree with at least 50% marks (45% for SC, ST, and PwD categories). Candidates in their final year of graduation may also apply.
Minimum Cutoffs: Meet the following CAT 2025 percentile requirements (Qualifying):
- General: 90 Overall (75 Sectional)
- EWS / NC-OBC: 75 Overall (60 Sectional)
- SC: 50 Overall (45 Sectional)
- ST / PwD: 30 Overall (25 Sectional)

IIM JAP 2026 Selection Process

The selection is a multi-stage process designed to be student-centric:

Stage 1: Shortlisting: Candidates are shortlisted based on their CAT 2025 performance and academic consistency.
Stage 2: Personal Interview (PI): Shortlisted candidates will attend a single common interview for all four participating IIMs. For 2026, the process focuses solely on the Personal Interview; there is no Written Ability Test (WAT) or Group Discussion (GD).
Stage 3: Final Merit List: Each IIM will prepare its own final merit list using its unique weightage for CAT scores, PI performance, academic profile, work experience, and diversity (gender/academic).

IIM JAP 2026 Work Experience Section

Validity: Only full-time corporate work experience is considered valid.
Documentation: Experience must be supported by Income Tax Deduction at Source (TDS), Provident Fund (PF) deductions, or Professional Tax payments.
Scoring: Marks are awarded based on the total length of service completed as of December 31, 2025.
Verification: All claimed experience will be strictly verified by the respective IIM during the admission process; if original documents are missing, the candidature will be rejected.

IIM JAP 2026: APAAR ID and How to Create It?

The APAAR ID (Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry) is a mandatory 12-digit unique identifier for all students in India, acting as a "One Nation, One Student ID".

How to Create APAAR ID?

Via DigiLocker: Log in to your DigiLocker account, search for "Academic Bank of Credits," and select the "APAAR/ABC ID Card" option.
Via ABC Portal: Visit abc.gov.in, sign up as a "Student," and link your Aadhaar for KYC verification.
Requirements: You must provide your Aadhaar number, mobile number, and academic details like your institution's name and admission year. Once generated, the ID is automatically added to your DigiLocker.

IIM JAP 2026 - How to Apply?

Email Invitation: Eligible candidates who selected these IIMs in their CAT form will receive an email invitation.
Official Portal: They must visit the official IIM JAP 2026 portal (coordinated through iimraipur.ac.in).
Registration: Log in using CAT 2025 credentials and complete the mandatory registration form.
Slot Booking: Once registered, candidates will be notified to book their preferred interview city and time slot.
