Ans. I am a CSE student at IIT Patna and I will try to justify why choosing IIT Patna for your CSE is a good decision. Don’t base your choice on how old an institution is. All the new IITs like IIT Patna or IIT Jodhpur are doing exceptionally well, some are even competing against the old IITs. IIT Patna has a great campus and it has achieved tremendous success in a short span of time. CSE department has a learned and supportive faculty and great seniors. The teams have always performed exceptionally well in the ACM-ICPC and have even made it to the world finals. A good number of students clear the GSoC( Google Summer of Code). NJACK club organizes tutorial classes and workshops on Web development, App development, Android, etc. It also organizes competitions like Capture the Flag, NWoC-an open source coding event, and other competitions throughout the year. Other interdisciplinary teams which you can join are ROBOCON, Supra BAJA, HPVC etc. CSE alums at IIT Patna have made successful startups and others are working in good positions at top MNCs. Overall, the coding culture over here is excellent. The placements for the CSE department are quite impressive. For 2023 placements, the highest package stood at INR 82.05 LPA. The average package stood at INR 35.57 LPA and the median package stood at INR 32.85 LPA. 98.65% of students from the CSE branch were placed. In the end, whether you choose IIT Jodhpur, IIT Mandi, IIT Patna, or any other institution, the choice should be based on your personal preference. However, I would suggest you choose IIT Patna CSE as I am quite satisfied with my choice. Read more

Ans. My friend is a student at IIT Patna and shared his side of the story about city life there. Unlike the general misconception, Patna is rather a safe city. He visited the city frequently to buy basic things and never did he feel unsafe or comfortable during the 4 years of his stay. The campus of IIT Patna spreads across a massive 500 acres and is beautifully designed. The campus is still in its development phase but not to the extent that it will hamper your college life experience in any way. Students can be seen roaming around and indulging in sports such as table tennis and cricket. As for the CS department, IIT Patna is very dynamic and has many clubs that will keep you motivated and interested in the field. I would certainly recommend you to go to IIT Patna and experience the bliss of college life.Read more

Ans. IIT Patna placement 2023 has witnessed a great start with the highest salary standing at INR 82.05 LPA and the average salary standing at INR 29.30 LPA. Students received 72 PPOs and in all 281 offers were made. Some of the Top Recruiters were Amazon, Google, Adobe, etc. Last year, students received 412 offers including 10 international offers. The highest international salary was recorded at INR 1.37 CPA and the highest domestic salary at INR 61.30 LPA. Ans. My friend was in a similar dilemma last year and chose DTU over IIT Patna. She considers new IITs overhyped and not at par with the IIT standards. Running after the IIT tag is not logical and you should look at the bigger picture. Anaise your career prospects and see if other options fit your prospects or not. DTU is a great option for CSE considering the excellent exposure and opportunities you will get in Delhi, the capital. The salary packages, the companies, and the profiles offered at DTU are similar to the new IITs if not better. To make things simpler, here are a few pros and cons of going for a new IIT instead of DTU Pros: The most coveted IIT tag name, helps you get admission to foreign universities and also helps you in off-campus job hunt. IITs have better research opportunities The academic structure and pedagogy are world-class at IITs Cons: Being in Delhi will groom your overall personality in addition to excellent professional opportunities and exposure. The new IITs fail to give a vibrant and dynamic college life and are still struggling with infrastructure and basics. DTU, being old, has a vibrant culture with all sorts of fests, cultural and tech activities. Delhi is the hub of coaching institutes for higher education.
