Additionally, the institution recognizes the importance of supporting students financially and offers various avenues for scholarships, financial assistance, and campus employment opportunities.
Faculties are highly experienced with great knowledge and some of them have good teaching and mentorship style.
The classes are also very nice, the library is beautiful, well organized and peaceful.

Dislikes

We get information about scholarships, they are not interested in giving scholarships to poor students like us.
I disliked the lack of facilities in college sports, or music room facilities gym and all and mess is also not good
There is one almirah and one table and one bed provided in the hostel but the mess is really not good which was a problem in every college.

NIT DURGAPUR

Likes

Campus, its lust green and has many facilities needed for the students.
Auditorium, it's newly built and is very comfortable.

Dislikes

Restriction, due to a recent case of ragging the 1st year are not allowed to leave the hostel without any escort.
Surrounding areas, the surrounding areas are not much populated and consists of open fields so it feels boring outside the campus.

Placement Experience:

From the 3rd year, all the students become eligible for campus internships and from 4th year all students become eligible for campus placements. The companies that visit the campus for placements are BPL, Microsoft, JP Morgan etc and most students get placement from the campus. The highest package that was offered last year was 70lpa and the average package of btech is 13lpa. The percentage of students that got placements is around 85 overall. For now, I don't have any plans after getting the degree and only want to have a job in a good company. Later my views may change.

Infrastructure is one the best among all Nits which every facilities provided
Placement is another big pro of the institute having one of the best placement records from past few years

Dislikes

Curriculum can sometimes be too lengthy and exhaustive to focus on something extra curricular or something of interest
Attendance criteria of 75% forces one to come to class and attend lectures which reduces ones time to work upon oneself

Placement Experience:

The students of final year are eligible for on campus placements. Multiple companies including tech giants like Microsoft, Amazon visited the campus with soft ware roles. Other companies like JP Morgan and co. Too visited the campus. Overall average package was 13.62lpa, highest being 70 lpa. 85% of students appeared were placed. Mostly students opt for placements whereas others move for further studies in various parts of the country and world.

from 4th sem to 5th sem they can intership. companies like acolyte digital, acko, Paytm, Samsung, tata Motors, etc, the average package for all the courses is 13.62 LPA and the highest package is 70 LPA. 84% of students are placed in nit Durgapur.

The infrastructure of the college is the best
The struggle of CDC towards providing placements for students is appreciable

Dislikes

The meals provided in the hostel is not good

Placement Experience:

From the end of the 6th semester, the students will be eligible for campus placements. Many Reputed companies such as Adobe, Microsoft, and Texas Instruments are visiting the campus to provide placement opportunities And provide an average of 15LPA and the highest of 57LPA as per last year.

A glimpse of NIT Durgapur

Likes

Sanitation, water facility, cleaniliness
Availablity of food, and other things are nearby campus
Ease of travelling as every think is in walkable distance

Dislikes

Less care about students carrier by teachers
Too displined and strict about class attendance
Less scope to explore things on our own because of tight schedule

The placements of the college may not live upto the name of the college but they are decent and from trustworthy companies you cannot be worried about palcements if you follow the academics and maintain good pointer you will be placed.

My opinion on my college

Likes

Nice faculty and good atmosphere having good culture.
Nice infrastructure and good classroom experience
Nice hostel accomodation and good rooms and nice collegues

Dislikes

Worst quality of food and bad taste are getting in hostel
Small area of ground and we didn't have requirements for playing
Small library and some areas are not so clean

In national institute of technology Durgapur the computer science and technology branch is one the finest branch in our college and in this branch we have plenty of opportunities and jobs so I selected this branch.

i like to be with my friends and enjoy the most of time
yeah i like the greenary in my campus very much
i like the peace in my campus and i like the environment

Dislikes

the way people behave during nights that is too disgusting
the way dogs behave in our hostel corridors
sometimes i dont like the mess food quality

Placement Experience:

placements are okay but should maintain an 8.5 cgpa constantly. mainly for cse students 95% rating of placements in nit Durgapur we can get an intern in the 5th semester and a placement in the 7th semester, so all the best for ur future.

My roomates and our gang.Its really feel good with these people.
The weather of nit Durgapur is really good.
The classroom are very large and feels like we reached our destination for BTech

Dislikes

Some of the facilities are lacking in girls hostel
I think there should be better equipment in the class and labs.
I do not think there are more than this i dislike in our college because I came here by my choice so I don't complain more.

Placement Experience:

Nit Durgapur provides space for many famous companies like Microsoft, Adobe, JP Morgan, etc. The placement percentage for the computer science department is nearly 95 and also offers decent to good packages. It also maintains an average package of 15lpa.

Insights into NIT Durgapur

Likes

Campus life is really great for students here.
Campus placements are on a rise lately for the students.
Extra curricular activities have a lot of scope here.

Dislikes

The course structure is not really good here.
Hostel facilities and mess facilities are not good
Some professors have extreme strictness here.

Placement Experience:

Sem 7 onwards students are eligible for the on-campus placements. Some companies include Microsoft, Wells Fargo, Adobe, BNY Mellon, PWC, Delloite and so on. The placement rate is pretty high with the last year's placement percentage being 88 percent.

Likes

Campus life is great for the students here
Sports facilities are great here for students
Campus placements are great for students

The course structure is not very good here
Some professors are way too strict here.
The hostels and mess facilities are not that great

Placement Experience:

One becomes eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester. The companies that visit include Microsoft, Wells Fargo, John Deere, Tata Steel, Adobe, etc. The placement percentage in 2023 was 90 percent for metallurgy, 88 for ece, 86 for electrical, and 84 for cse. I personally would like to get into the core sector post-engineering.

Here is a detailed review shared by my brother who completed his graduation from NIT Durgapur

Infrastructure: Honestly, the infrastructure isn’t all that great but will provide all the basic amenities necessary for a good academic environment.
Faculty: Most students have to resort to self-study because the professors are not very passionate about teaching. However, if you do good projects under a professor, you may be able to pursue a master's in a foreign university.
Placements: NIT Durgapur has recorded excellent placements. This year the highest CTC offered was INR 70 LPA while the average salary offered was INR 13.64 LPA. The top recruiters included TCS Ninja, PwC, ICICI Bank, Microsoft, and many others. More than 100 recruiters participated in the placement drive and 633 students were placed.
Opportunities: The NIT tag will open a number of opportunities for you and the alumni network is also quite extensive. You can also avail opportunities like workshops and clubs.
Campus life: The campus life is very active with many fun-filled events like the freshers' farewell party and celebration of regional festivals. Additionally, a number of cultural and technical fests are also held.
Administration : The administration is very slow and is not cooperative. You might face some issues.
Location : NIT Durgapur faces no major connectivity issues. The railway station is 30 mins or 14 km away while the nearest airport is at Andal, which isn't well connected, so Kolkata Airport will be a better option. You can find the Auto rickshaw stand just at the main gate.
