Likes

Strong faculty: vssut is reputed for its experienced faculty members who are often experts in their respective fields.
The college also organises fest which also is a good source of enjoyment and bliss.
Campus employment opportunities are quite good.vssut provide internship opportunities along with good support from professors also.scholarship facilities are also provided for reserved castes and for general category also who are eligible.

Dislikes

Hostel facilities are not so good and the food is also of low quality which is very difficult to eat.
The hostel and mess. there is corruption in the mess. the mess secretaries are given money to stop students for complaining.
The conditions of mess and hostel have been worse and it's been degrading day by day. this could have been better.

OVERALL VSSUT REVIEW FROM A FINAL YEAR, (PASS-OUT BATCH 2025)

Likes

Teachers/professors are Well Qualified(sometimes you like it isn't,but actually they have proper knowledge).
A good Overall Facility to Grow and develope ,as there are many Events(Tech. Events, outdoor Game events, Chess event, religious Events)
Every Year A good quality Fest takes place at the campus . Three fests take place every year VASSAUNT (cultural event), SAMAVESH(tech event), ILLUMINA(Sports Event).. these events take place before exams to release overall Stress in students.

Dislikes

Some Things has gotten stricter from earlier times. Like attendance issues....sometimes even if u have genuine issues you won't be listened.
Earlier the Marking style but a bit loose, but now it's gotten genuine for some teachers. They give proper genuine marks which may be Sad news for some people😂
You have to take responsibility for Your placements. Take help from Friends and Seniors. PROFESSORS generally don't interfere in this.

Placement Experience:

• From 2nd Year One can Get placed in our college if He/she is hardworking and brilliant enough. But I general you can get placed from 3rd by getting Pre-placement Opportunity. • JP Morgan,Accenture, Delliote, K-Fintech , Infosys, Aditya Birla, DeltaX, Cognizant, Capgemini, Bitwise, Cartesian, Tata Power....etc. • Highest package 20LPA(JP MORGAN on-Campus) and lower 3.5LPA( Infosys On-Campus). • 85-90% Placed Every year. • I'll Be sticking to the same field. But if I chose I can go for MBA.

My college

Likes

I liked the practical education system , I mean the labs.
Also the discipline that students maintain.
The occasions like basant festival and other festivals.

Dislikes

The hostel clearness I mean the bathroom especially.

Placement Experience:

After 6th semester the students are eligible for placements Highest package this year was 8.2 of Infosys and average it's 4 lpa 60 Percent minimum is required to sit in placements Im thinking of getting placement or doing mtech.

Likes

Campus is of decent size and a proper study atmosphere
Good Faculties and very supportive towards students
Supportive seniors and good sporting environment

Dislikes

Placement good have been more better considering the efforts students put , but its mot due to the location.
Infratsructure is quite undeveloped and have a scope of developement
College food is quite descent and can be improved

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus is same and old fashioned and its common in all engineering colleges (Govt) . Faculties give proper time but you have to be attentive and before exam you shoul prepare well for the semesters. For placements you have to improve your skills through online courses or youtube or any source but not just for certification.

Review of VSSUT - The Oldest Technical University of Odisha

Likes

The college has a good campus with a green environment.
All the technical and cultural and other events help students to involve in extra curricular activities.
The cleanliness of the campus is the most liked thing.

Dislikes

As it is very old institute, some of the hostels are very old and need to be repaired.
The college is situated beside the Mahanadi river and the power channel, which causes frequent accidents.
Some of the Class rooms are very small in size.

Placement Experience:

From seventh semester onwards the students become eligible for campus placements. This year as recession is going on less company visited the campus and the number of students hired was also less than previous years. Some of the big companies like Tata power, Maruti Suzuki, Deloitte and Cognizant and many startups also visited the campus. About 70% students got placed. I'm placed in an on-campus drive in Cognizant and also off campus in TCS.

Story of vssut

Likes

Teachers teaching style Nd classroom classmates environment.study material they provide was very good
Robotics club. I got to learn more from the club about bot and many more technical things

Dislikes

Library don't have sufficient books.they need to equiped it with more books and also need to improve the sitting
Less option for placement as it is not situated in the capital of odisha most of the company are not coming here for requitment

I loved coding that's why I choose CSE It has all the advance coding language which help me during campus placement In the curriculum they need to add more practical based knowledge and application of the theory Exam held on each 6 month basis semester system and difficulty level was moderate to high

VSSUT in a nutshell

Likes

I like the college campus. Here along with the college we have library, canteen etc.
Also I like the college environment here.
In college we have 24*7 electricity facility.

Dislikes

I don't like the climatic conditions here.
This is the only problem for me with the college.
Hostel food is not properly hygiene and maintained.

Placement Experience:

The college campus in VSSUT takes place during the 6th semester and the average placement here is 6-7 lack per annum. INFOCSIS is the most consistent company approaching here in terms of placement here. Almost 70n% of students gets placement here every year.

Friendly and cooperative faculties who are always ready to help.
The administration is awesome.They manage the college very efficiently.

Dislikes

The hectic schedule and lots of theory classes and frequent exams.

Placement Experience:

A good number of companies visit the college for placements. Students get a good number of chances to show their skills and get placed.The average package is around 6lakhs and highest package is 48 lakhs.Around 70%students get placed every year.

Overall Review of Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology @VSSUT

Likes

Active operation of Clubs and working on different and innovative projects.
Lab infrastructure and facilities available for gaining field experience and research work
Faculties and administration is supportive and efficient. The way Administration department controls the college is remarkable.

Dislikes

The hectic schedule and syllabus of first year as we have to study subjects of all branches.
There are lots of restrictions on first year student and we have to proper formals.

Placement Experience:

Lot's of company visit the college and there are good opportunities available for the students to get placed. But Students have to work hard and gain skills instead of sticking to curriculum only. One has to develop personal skills also.

Infra structure, garden, college value is more as com to other college

Its a very old college so here some issue regarding ragging

After third semester u are eligible for sit in placements.. Wipeo tcs, Amazon , TA TA POWER and many more good companies visited. Highest placement 18 lpa and average 3.5 lpa.minimum 60 percent student every year get placed

The clubs in our college are very great.
The annual fest and student teams are also good.
The educational policy of vssut is great.

Thr campus is too small for an university

Vssut burla is the best college for mechanical engineering.Here Faculties are the best supporters for students. They are good teacher. They give their best to educate to us. We have 8 semester in total.

Here is a detailed review of the Electrical Engineering Department of VSSUT Burla based on my friend experience who is an alumnus of the same

VSSUT is among the top colleges in the state and Electrical Engineering is one of the best branches.
The branch offers a tremendous learning scope with decent lab facilities.
The branch has a decent number of permanent faculty.
VSSUT placement scenario however is not that good although it’s better compared to other top colleges in the state.
The M.Tech students are asked to supervise labs which isn’t a good practice because they are mostly fresh out of engineering colleges and lack expectations

Electrical Engineering from VSSUT is a good choice if you are interested in the field and are willing to invest extra effort in your studies.
