Comprehensive review of VSSSUT ,Burla academics, campus, life, placements, and overall experience

Likes

Supportive faculty with strong academic guidance
Active college life with great fest and clubs
Good placements for cse and core brances

Dislikes

Hostels and lab infrastructure need improvement
Mess food quality can be improved significantly
Low girls to boys ratio in most brances.

Admission:

University of technology, VSSUT Burla because it is one of the top government engineering colleges in Odisha with a strong academic reputation and affordable fee structure. I also applied to other colleges like silicon Institute of technology technology, but I preferred SSUT for its better placement record, experience, faculty and alumni network. The environment here is more research and project oriented which helps in overall technical growth, admission process is through OJE counselling based on JEE Mains cut-off varies every year, depending on the category branch with (CSE) electrical. Being the most competitive the entire process is transparent and conducted online didn't face any issue during admission as the document verification. Overall I chose VSSUT for its reputation, quality education, and value for money compared to private colleges.

My experience in Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology, Burla

Likes

Placement for core branches like mechanical, civil engineering is good in this college
There is almost no ragging in this college, college takes immediate steps against ragging
Campus size is around 300 acres which is good for an engineering college

Dislikes

Hostel water management is too poor , many time issues related to water has been seen
Bathrooms & washrooms are ok but not so good many times hygiene is not maintained
Boys to girls ratio is low around, 6 : 1

Admission:

Especially there are two good engineering college in Odisha are Vssut & Outr but I choose Vssut over Outr because core branches placements are good, campus is larger, hostel is available for all students etc.

Buckle up Journey in Vssut

Likes

The campus of Vssut is quite greenish. I love to take a seat under the tree.
The E Learning centre is quite huge. It has a large projector having seats in a sloping manner.
The college canteen is quite cheap and affordable. It has around 70 rupees for veg meal. And around 90 for non veg(chicken) meal.

Dislikes

The Vssut culture of wearing formals is the annoying part during summer.
Some of the lectures are not as good as we think.
The fest of Vssut also known as Vassaunt is not as good as it was at it old times.

Admission:

I have applied to only Outr(formerly Cet Bhubaneswar). I have applied on the technical branches, but got none of them as my rank was around 152000. As Cet is not very good for its core branches, so I preferred Vssut over it. To get technical branches in cet bhubaneswar your rank should be under 50000 in Jee mains. The admission process is through the OJEE COUNSELLING. It is the counselling only for the students of odisha and anyone out of Odisha appearing the OJEE examination. The eligibility of our college is 45 percent. The admission process is quite hassle free. As once you got the seat in ojee counselling.

Many hangout places near college are there
Placement cell is very good and active as well

Dislikes

Ragging is happening in the college campus
The class shedule is hectic for first year students
Lab equipment need replacement for more convenience

I always wanted to pursue this course in my life and to make a career in this field so I find this college suitable enough for completing my degree yes I seek for other colleges but not got selected due to some my left less effortsthe admission process in this college is very easy

Likes

I liked the college campus it's quite big and beautiful.
The faculty members are also very kind .
The environment for the study is very nice.

Dislikes

There is a lot of distance between the hostel and college.
The package of the placement is not soo high.
You have to for off campus placement for a big package mainly.

Admission:

Actually at first I want to go to IIT, But unfortunately I can't. So then I look for other colleges and then I found this college Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology, Burla. Then I see this is in top 2 to 3 colleges of odisha. So I joined here.

i like our clss room which is high quality means it is with smart board
i like the campus of our college it is greenary campus
i like the bijupatnaik e learning centre where so much computers are there for practical

Dislikes

i dislike the hostel food which are not quality food
we don not have hostel play ground so it is dissapointed
the hostel bathroom are not neat and clean

Likes

For core branches there are better opportunities.
There good faculties with proper teaching experience
There is a dedicated placement cell who is concerned for providing internship and training guidance to students

Dislikes

For computer branches the syllabus is little outdated and the labs are also very poor.
Classroom are also very old even though there are better classrooms. Still old rooms are being used
For core branches this can be the best college to go for in odisha but for tech branches cse it you its better to go for outr Bhubaneswar

Admission:

I applied for outr Bhubaneswar and vssut burla. I was getting electrical branches in both the colleges. But in outr there are not enough hostels for student neither the campus is that much attracting. O the other hand vssut have total 11 hostel and can accommodate every student studying and the campus is also somewhat good. But for csit branches there are not enough facilities in vssut To get admission here you have to get a rank in jee main exam and have to go through ojee counselling. To get to cse branch your all India rank must be within 1lakhs and for electrical branch its about 1.5lakhs and for lower branches production rank does not matter that must there are seats pending vacant you can get them via spot counselling

Likes

The university infrastructure is amazing and well maintained.
This is the only university which is popular for its oldest university.
This university have many hostels whose looks are awesome.

Dislikes

Rude behaviour of seniour is disturbing in college.
instrument in lab are too old and appear problem at lab.
some faculities are not friendly to the student.

Yes the infrastructure is good but now it's be celebrated because two buildings are in under construction
Yes it's a ragging free campus I think 🤔 I was very much worried but here no ragging
Food of Hostel is very good with moton weekly

Dislikes

All class rooms are not with ac and create problem in summer
Bathroom and hostel facilities are not very good
The gym and swimming pool are not clean.

It is the oldest college in the Odisha and according to my rank ank very crazy that I want to join this institute fortunately I choose beer Surendra Sai University of technology and I got selected in in the department of electrical and telecommunication engineering It is better than the other engineering college in Orissa accept NIT Rourkela is is the second largest institute in Odisha so I choose it
