Course Curriculum Overview

3

I like to study probability and statistics and its usefulness in our society and it was key draw that brought me into the maths hons course. This course is very much practical and based on real life applications, which prepares the students to reason out and analyze things. While the curriculum is informative, it could include more industy related content to give students a real exposure, like speaker sessions and workshops. Adding more hands-on tasks and less focus on theory would be a start to this. Exams are regular and balanced in terms of difficulty.

Internships Opportunities

4

Our college provides great internship offers through the placement cell, Avenues . As they organize different sessions and workshops on CV Building, building skills, working on LinkedIn profile, improving communication skills, etc. Students can also apply in their own in reputed firms like KPMG, Decathlon, TimesIndia, zoho, piacpool and many more. Students are hired at roles like, interim head, junior executive, solution consultant, marketing and sales, event head, project leader and many more. The stipend ranges from rupees 10000 to 15000. The tasks for them are like data collection and organising, outreach and PR.

Placement Experience

4

The placements cell Avenues regarding the placement offers coming to the college. Major companies of the job market come to the campus for recruitment like KPMG, deloitte, zepto, EY, ZS Associates and many more. The students from the final year itself gets eligible for placements. Around 30-40% students get the palcements through the placement drive. The highest package during the last palcement season was around 18 to 20LPA, while the average was 7 to 8LPA. I will certainly go for higher studies in operational research.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees for B.Sc. Hons Mathematics in Kirori mal college is very budget-friendly for every student here. It's just rupees 17115 yearly, including different components of tuition fees, registration fees. development fees, lab fees, etc. For the reserved categories like SC,ST and others, it gets down to just a nominal amount. From the past years, there has been a minimal increase in the fees structure. There are various scholarship schemes which are launched by the University of Delhi and the college itself for economically weaker students and also for meritorious students.

Campus Life

4

The annual fest of our college is RENAISSANCE held every year in march, which is very famous and attracts lots of crowd of DU students. The societies also have their semi-annual and annual fest throughout the calender. THe library has lot of books, research journals, newspapers and various other articles. The classrooms are modern, equipped with high-speed wi-fi, projectors and smartboards. The sports and ECA are very much appreciated and encouraged by the college itself. The societies are much diverse and active, they offer ample opportunities to leran and grow.

Admission

After passing my 12th, i applied in various college, stilll I opted for Math hons in KMC as the level of exposure and real life oppotunities i wish to have, it is present in this college. Alao the academic and extracurricular profile is much better than other colleges. I got admission into many private institutes and also some state universities. The admission process is very smooth, for being eligible just pass your 12th boards. Then, appear for the Cuet and achieve a brilliant score as the cutoff for the north campus colleges always tend to be high.

Faculty

3

The faculty of department of mathematics is very much experienced, approachable and helpful. The best ones include Dr. SP Tripathi and Dr. Rajkumar Mishra , they teach with clarity and make the topics very reasonable and easy to understand. Some professors keep the class too theory-focused which in turn makes the class less entertaining but the students also lose interest in those subjects. There are different exams and assessments like internals, practicals, mid semester exams and end semester exams.

Night Life

4

The nightlife of north campus especially KMC is full of thrills and safe enough as it is very near to The Kamla Nagar Market and many hangout spots. There is also a college gym for the college students, though there are less training gear but still are enough for a basic physical fitness. There is also a college canteen, hostel canteen and a kirorian cafe in the campus itself. The entry in hostels is restricted after 10pm. Library also has a great ambience with 3 reading halls. The famous hangout spots include QD's, chache di hatti, sudama tea stall, hudson lane, CodeBreak 60 and many more.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of Hansraj College is quite active. You are eligible to sit for campus placement offers from 5th semester onwards. Companies like Deloitte, capgemini arw frequent recruiters for several posts and positions. The highest offered package is somewhere around 22000 with the average being at 700000-800000. Not all students get placed on campus, however thr hands on training and learning makes you industry ready, making you eligible amd worthy to apply for off campus placement opportunities. Many students prefer not to sit for campus placements and rather opt for higher studies after graduation. I plan to do the same after getting my undergraduate degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I think the BSc Statistics (H) offered by Sri Venkateshwara College has been quite relevant and comprehensive in content. The core courses such as probability, inference, regression, and econometrics were the major reasons for opting for the subject of statistics. It provides us in-depth analytical training that is necessary for higher education and work in the field of data, though there is a need for exposure to software/tools as well. The semester-wise examination, which is moderately tough

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is just like any other college, and you need to do a lot of the skill enhancement by yourself. Here, you will learn something, but not everything that is relevant. The professors will teach according to the syllabus, be it really relevant in real life or not. Everything that you will be learning will be relevant for career in this field, but not enough. You require to put some extra efforts to gain more knowledge and practice.

Placement Experience:

Students typically become eligible from 3rd year/6th semester onwards for most companies. Some internships and tech roles may be available to 2nd-year students depending on the company criteria. Placement Percentage: Usually, 70–85% of eligible students get placed, depending on the stream. Highest placement rates are often in Computer Science, Economics, and Commerce streams. My plan is to become a software engineer.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Cource curriculum is highly relevant. It covers fundamental and advanced concepts of zoology , which was the main reason I choose this course. Subjects like human physiology, biochemistry, biomolecules, comparative anatomy of vertebrates, animal behaviour, ...etc. are highly interested and align with my interest. Practical components help in developing and understanding concepts more clearly. However, real world applications is limited. Curriculum prepare students well for further academics for PG or other competitive exams. Exam system is conducted at regular intervals with Internal assessment and semester end. Timings are appropriate . Difficulty level is moderate to high.

Reviewed on Jan 6, 2026(Enrolled 2025)

Course Curriculum Overview:

For B.Sc (Hons) Mathematics at Hindu College, the curriculum follows the latest DU UGCF?2022 structure, so it covers both strong theory and some modern applications. The main reason to choose this course is the depth in core areas like Calculus, Algebra, Real Analysis, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations and Probability, which builds a very solid base for higher studies like M.Sc, data science or research. There are six semesters with continuous internal assessment plus end?semester exams, so students study regularly instead of only before finals. Exams are usually moderate to difficult because questions are concept?based, but the pattern is fair and gives weightage to assignments, tutorials and attendance. Overall, the course is quite comprehensive and relevant for careers in teaching, analytics, government exams and higher academics, though adding more practical projects, programming and real?life modelling could make it even more industry?oriented
