Ragging Free Campus : there was no ragging happened with us.
Class rooms are big and the bench are good.
Water Facility, Bathrooms are nit and clean.

Dislikes

The place where College is so rural. That's why if you need to buy something, You should go main Coochbehar city.
There was no Hostel for us. That was a big problem for students who came from other districts.

Course Curriculum Overview

My Electronic and Communication Engineering branch is good in this college, that is why I chose this course. My target is to clear the GATE exam. For that, this college is best. Because there was less Academic pressure. The faculty is good and friendly. You can easily pass exams.

The list of companies that had visited our campus to conduct the requirements drive includes prestigious companies like TCS Digital, TCS Ninja, Cognizant, Capgemini, Infosys, Wipro, Poornam, Hi-technext etc

I heard from my seniors, that there are no placements from this college. But you can get jobs in off-campus. My plan is to crack the GATE exam and go for an M.Tech. But some Students from EE, and ME get placements from this college.

Fees and Financial Aid

When you take admission you need to pay 13000 for 1st semister and for the next semester, you need to pay 6000. There are many scholarships available like Swami Vivekanand Scholarship. You can do an Internship to earn and it gives you financial assistance.

Campus Life

I am a first-year student. As I observed there is full enjoyment in campus life. At the start, you get an Induction programme, Freshers Event, Annual Cultural programme and so on. CGEC library has various kinds of books that help you to study. There are so many clubs where you can enjoy your time. Clubs like Tech-o-nick, Melodies, Creative pens, Dance club etc clubs are present.

Admission

After scoring a good rank in wbjee( approx 10000) you can be Admitted to Coochbehar Government Engineering College through WBJEE counselling. You need to pay 13000 (CSE and ECE) for 1st semister and the next semester 6000. Sc/St/OBC reservations are available in Addmission. College is good in terms of Academic and cultural activities. But the placement record is not good because this is a new college (2016 foundation). There are no hostels available for 1st, 2nd and 3rd year boys. The hostel is available for only 4th-year boys and all-year Girls. I hope the college will get better soon.

Placement Experience:

From Third semester, the students become eligible for campus placements. The companies like P360, EY, Deloitte, Tech Mahindra, Neutanix, BinaryWorks and few more visited our college for placements and mostly 15 to 20 offers were made Highest package was around 5 to 6 lpa 50% students were placed I am now preparing for govt jobs and side by side also applying for offcampuses. Placement Experience:

Studentsbecome eligible for placements from 7th semester. Various companies such as TCS, Infosys, Accenture, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Godrej, etc. come for placements. Earlier many offers used to come however in the recent years the number of offers made have reduced significantly. highest package comes around 10 to 11 lakhs per annum with average being 4-5 lakhs per annum. I have kept my options open after completion of degree in doing further studies that is Mtech or getting into a job whichever seems appropriate at the situation.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placements from 7th sem. The names of comanies visited are TCS, Infosys, Capegimini,Tech mahindra etc. Some students Got 2 offer laters . Highest packages last year was 47 LPA (off Campus) 27LPA ( on campus). Average pakage was 5-6Lpa. The job role is Software Development. Percentage of Students Got placement is 92-95% In my Deoartment. Other is Around 70_90%. My plans to take placement from product based company.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
