Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum is at par with all IITs and NITs and upto date with industry needs. The projects are based on real world application. There are few topics which are bit out dated and could be replaced with more IT related topics in core departments. The exams used to happen on monthly basis like class test, mid-sem and end-sem. The difficulty of these were moderate.

Internships Opportunities

4

The interships with paid work is very less for our year. Just 50% got internships in well reputed companies with desginated work from on-campus opporunities. The internships are mainly given by the departments as vocational training to different PSUs.

Placement Experience

4

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fees is 13600 Rs and it is paid per semester as 68000 Rs. There are tuition fee waivers for EWS and other reserved categories and also scholarships are available from the alumni for the meritious and talented students in college.

Campus Life

5

There is a lot of every events and fests happening every year. Each clubs, departments and hostels have their own events from technical to cultural where you can participate or can be viewer to enjoy the show. There is a large library with thousands of books and articles present for all students to feed knowledge. The classrooms are mostly air-conditioned and has projector screens for both on board and off board classes. There is annual sports meet that has numerous races and events for every student to participate.

Hostel Facilities

3

The hostels are in poor conditioned and not well maintained. The rooms are small and not well furnished. The quality of food is poor and hygiene is low. The fees with respect to food and condition of hostels is quite high. The rooms are also given on the proximity basis from the college, not enough rooms available. PGs and room rents are available in close proximity of the college for the students.

Admission

My admission happened through JOSAA by considering the JEE marks and rank. The counselling process is similar for every students in the college, expect for the foreign students apply through DASA. I have applied for NIT Durgapur and in my college, I have applied for IT too. The rank and cutoff choose me my department. This college was near to my hometown so I choose to continue this college and I was not rejected by other college.

Faculty

5

The student to faculty is almost 1:7, but the faculties are well experienced in teaching and very knowledgeable. They give well thought assignments and conduct fair exams and practicals to test our knowledge

Night Life

4

The nightlife is moderate depending on the person to person. There is lot of places to visit after college hours and there is a strict timing for the outside gates. The most famous place is Botanical Garden that starts just after the college boundaries ends and also there is Ganga Ghat to enjoy the soothing evenings.

Other Applied Colleges

National Institute of Technology - [NIT] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Electrical Engineering)

Because it is closer to my hometown

Course Curriculum Overview:

The structure of curriculum is not so great. Definitely there is a scope for improvement . We are under MAKAUT university and through job readiness perspective the structure of curriculum is below average. Lots of inclusion of different subjects are needed along with the exclusion of lengthy monotonous subjects which doesn't yield any result.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Personally i opted for electrical and electronics instead of the branch of my choice is because my scores were not enough to secure a seat in CSE. But EEE is pretty cool as well for those willing to grow in this branch. Our curriculum exposes us to the rapidly growing sectors in the industry and educates us of all we need to know about the course in depth. If you want to continue ahead in a research field, this Institute is the most supportive. The exam questions are also relevant enough and considering we only need to actually stress over end semesters, its fair enough per semester. It would be better if our professors removed the attendance criteria rest im fine with everything else
