Sastra University has an incredible rank of 48 in the overall category of NIRF in BBA. It ranks 8th in Tamil Nadu according to NIRF Overall Ranking. It was ranked 99th out of 155 Top Private Colleges for MBA according to Outlook.The entire admission process can be completed online through the portal available on the universitys official website. I decided to fill the online form and was asked to submit 12th marksheet scoring 72%.
Course Curriculum Overview
Sastra University offers a 3 year BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration) program in the SRC campus of the university, located at Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu. The course offers specialization in finance and accounting, General management & economics, IT & Operations, Marketing & human resource.The faculty is qualified in their specializations with higher education degrees like Masters and Ph.D. The vast knowledge of teachers enables the students to have proper guidance in the respective discipline. They teach the students beyond the classrooms and pave the way for a better future ahead.
Internships Opportunities
Students must also complete an internship of six weeks during the course. The Higher Degree Courses are designed to offer professional and practical insights to students in the respective fields. I got internship in skill India in the second year itself.
Placement Experience
The placements are good. About 90% of the students place almost every year. The average paycheck will be around 6 lpa . There is also German language coaching available which makes you industry ready.
Fee Structure And Facilities
My course was of 3 years for which I paid total fees around 44,750. Every year, I paid approximately 1,25,000 each. I didn't get the scholarship but I got the financial aid help that helped me pay my fees.
Campus Life
The various Students clubs of SASTRA- Literary Club, Auto Club, Oratory, and Debating Club, JAM Club, Fine Arts Club, Quiz Club, etc. conduct weekly meetings to bring out and develop the talents of the students. These clubs have helped secure honors in various inter-college cultural competitions like sarang, festember, Riviera, etc.Daksh & Kurukshetra are SASTRAs National Level Annual Technical and Cultural festivals respectively and are conducted by the various student clubs. Colosseum & Fuera are SASTRAs inter and intra college sports competitions.
Hostel Facilities
The built-up area is over 2.2 lakh square meter that includes state-of-the-art laboratories, a well-stocked library, Central Computing Facility, playgrounds and good accommodation facilities for students.
