B.Tech Computer Science,SRM Institute of Science and Technology (2019)

My brother is from SRM, So I think I can give you some insight into the institute.

I have visited VelTech and found it to be an unappealing college. And if we talk about SRM for an MBA, then definitely it is a great deal, with so many events encouraging students to broaden their horizons. Vel tech is less expensive than SRM, Although the quality of education is better in SRM in comparison to Vel tech.

Here is a brief comparison of Vel Tech and SRM.

Parameter Vel Tech University  SRM
Course Fee  1.81 lakhs  7 lakhs
Average CTC  17 LPA -
Highest CTC  28 LPA  35 LPA
Major recruiters  Infosys, Amazon, Byju’s Dell Cognizant, TCS, Wipro

So, you should go for SRM and if you want, you can also consult any senior of Vel tech because this will give you a better picture and decision-making will be easy for you.

Which of these colleges is better for an MBA in finance, PUMBA, SIES or Dalmia according to the current scenario?

AJ
Advait Joshi Posted On : April 18th, 2023
Lives in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India

For Finance, PUMBA is superior because it is a college that its students entirely drive to. Students here bring the businesses to campus themselves and plan and run all of the events. Thus, students receive training in prospecting, public relations management, and other related skills. Additionally, IIM A faculty members teach financial management courses at PUMBA.

The average package for PUMBA and SIES is nearly identical and ranges between 7.5 and 8 lakh.

When it comes to fees, PUMBA costs 1.3 lakhs for two years. SIES costs more than five lakhs in fees. Regarding lodging, PUMBA offers hostel services for just Rs.4500 annually. SIES doesn't have a hostel of its own.

How good is Ashoka Business School Hyderabad compared to IBS Hyderabad for an MBA?

NM
Nitin Menon Posted On : February 15th, 2023
PGPM(MBA) in Marketing, Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India University (ICFAI)

First of all IBS Hyderabad is not a recognized college. Back in 2007-2009 students went against the college’s false promises and threw stones to protest. The college was in full bloom till 2006. But ever since then the quality of education and its brand value has been deteriorating. Some major reasons for its decline in value are

  • Massive intake i.e., an increase in the batch size has affected the quality of education proportionally.
  • The high fees have made ISB a money-making Institute rather than an educational institution.

It’s because of such reasons that it has lost its original reputation and is famous for all the wrong reasons. So I don’t think it’s very wise to risk your career by making such a choice.

For an MBA PGDM, which is better IMT Ghaziabad or IIM Rohtak?

AS
Arjun Singhaniya Posted On : January 18th, 2023
PGDM in Finance, Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad (Graduated 2019)

When comparing IIM Rohtak to IMT Ghaziabad, the preference varies from person to person. IIM Rohtak is unable to match IMT G's history, its extensive network of corporate connections, and its superior learning environment and segment of the population.

IIM Rohtak is unquestionably a good choice, and it will get you the IIM name, which IMT Ghaziabad lacks. If you are certain that you want to pursue marketing, then disregard IIM Rohtak. When it comes to marketing, IMT G easily outperforms it.

There isn't much of a difference between IIM Rohtak and IMT Ghaziabad, so your decision between them ultimately depends on how you want to shape yourself if your options aren't limited to marketing or if you haven't decided what you'll pursue and explore once you enroll in the B-school. If either of these situations applies to you, then you must make a personal decision.

If you want to study marketing, IMT Ghaziabad is the place to be. If you decide on anything other than marketing, you will end up getting hired for the same corporate positions. IMT G, as a brand, currently offers better prospects than IIM Rohtak and has much more to offer.

Should I attend NMIMS Mumbai or SPJIMR for an MBA in finance?

AJ
Advait Joshi Posted On : June 4th, 2023
Lives in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India

NMIMS Mumbai and SPJIMR are prestigious Indian business institutions with excellent finance MBA programs. We can consider these:

  • Reputation and Rankings: SPJIMR frequently outranks NMIMS in national and international MBA rankings.
  • Curriculum and staff: Both schools feature rigorous MBA programs with a finance focus and highly competent staff. SPJIMR's experiential learning comprises case studies, simulations, and industrial projects.
  • Location: NMIMS is in Mumbai, India's financial center, which offers many finance internships and positions. SPJIMR is in a quieter Mumbai area.
  • Alumni Network: Many successful finance professionals are alumni of both schools. SPJIMR alumni are more close-knit and supportive.

Both B-schools are good but the SPJIMR brand stands much above NMIMS. Placements are also good in SPJIMR and a small batch size is a big advantage. Projects are also good, so SPJIMR should be preferred.

What is the scope for MBA from GNDU Amritsar or should I opt for Punjabi University for MBA?

TC
Tithi Chatterjee, Posted On : November 15th, 2021
MCA from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar (2016)

If you are considering MBA, do not choose either GNDU or Punjab University as they both will give you disappointing results. It is better if you prepare well for CAT and GMAT exams and try opting for a top institution like IIMs or NITs.

Studying MBA at GNDU or PU will prove to be a waste of time and money. Placements at both these colleges are bad when it comes to MBA. But if you prefer technical courses like B.Tech the placements become better.

Students have mentioned that studying MBA from GNDU has only fetched a salary package of 2.5 - 3.5 LPA, which is much lower. Therefore, it is suggested you aim for better B-Schools.

How different are the career paths of individuals who pursue their MBA in HR from XIMB/SIBM/SCMHRD as compared to those from XLRI/TISS/MDI?

AD
Aditi Deshpande Posted On : May 18th, 2023

The answer can be divided into two main parts: Curriculum and Placements.

In terms of Curriculum, TISS is rated as having the best. Colleges whose core degree is not HR will be at a disadvantage when it comes to curriculum.

In terms of Placements, XLRI is ranked as having the best package and profile offerings, followed by a tie between TISS and SCMHRD. The colleges whose core is not HR will not offer as good a package post-MBA as compared to the colleges with core HR competencies.

In terms of packages offered, XLRI can be ranked the highest, followed by SCMHRD and TISS in a tie, and then MDI, SIBM, and XIMB.

You will probably face challenges in getting admission to FMS Delhi due to your academic records. There is a high level of competition, and a percentile score of 99.80 or higher will be needed to receive a call. Consider why you want to pursue finance as a career and examine your mindset and motivations in detail. Your past academic records can also affect placements, which means that your grades in 10th, 12th, and engineering graduation will play a role in your eventual job prospects after completing an MBA in finance at FMS.
