XAT 2027 Registration to Begin on July 15 at xatonline.in; Check Direct Link to Apply

The Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI), Jamshedpur, will open the Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2027 registration window on July 15, 2026, on the official portal xatonline.in. Candidates seeking admission to management programmes at XLRI and other participating institutes can submit their applications until December 6, 2026.

XAT is one of the oldest national-level management entrance examinations in India. It serves as the entry route for postgraduate management programmes at over 160 institutes, including XLRI Jamshedpur.

XAT 2027 Key Highlights

As per the official notification on xatonline.in, the computer-based exam will be conducted on January 3, 2027. The paper will run from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM across more than 100 test cities in India.

An early-bird advantage has also been announced. Candidates who submit their application on Day 1 will be allotted their first-preferred test city.

XAT 2027 Exam Pattern

The XAT 2027 paper will contain nearly 95 questions spread across four sections. The first three sections will share a common 170-minute window. The General Knowledge section will be attempted in the final 10 minutes.

What Is the Marking Scheme?

Each correct answer carries one mark. Every wrong answer will attract a penalty of 0.25 marks. Candidates can skip up to eight questions without any deduction.

From the ninth skipped question onwards, a penalty of 0.1 marks per unattempted question will apply. The General Knowledge section carries no negative marking. It is used only for XLRI programme selection.

Who Is Eligible to Apply?

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree of at least three years from a recognised university. The degree can be in any discipline.

Students in the final year of graduation are also eligible to apply. They must complete their degree before joining the programme.

How to Apply for XAT 2027?

Interested candidates can complete the XAT 2027 registration process online through the official portal.

1. Visit the official website at xatonline.in.
2. Click on the XAT 2027 registration link on the homepage.
3. Fill in personal, academic and contact details to create an account.
4. Log in and complete the detailed application form.
5. Upload the required documents in the specified format.
6. Pay the application fee online and submit the form.

XAT 2027 Application Fee

As per media reports and past cycles, the XAT 2027 application fee is expected to be Rs 2,200. Candidates opting for XLRI programme selection will have to pay an additional Rs 200.

The exact fee will be confirmed in the official notification on July 15, 2026. Payment can be made through net banking, debit card, credit card or UPI.
