MAKAUT CET 2026 Registration Open

Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), West Bengal has opened online registration for Common Entrance Test (CET) 2026. Candidates can apply for undergraduate and postgraduate programs through the official website makautwb.ac.in. The online application process starts on May 2, 2026 and closes on May 22, 2026 at 23:59:59 hours. The Common Entrance Test (CBT/Online Admission Test) is scheduled for May 31, 2026. Candidates must complete their registration and form submission before the deadline to be eligible for the examination.

MAKAUT offers diverse undergraduate and postgraduate programs across engineering, science, management, law, and other disciplines. The university provides in-house programs including B.Sc in Mathematics and Computing, B.Sc in IT specializations, BCA, BBA, and various postgraduate programs. Candidates from recognized boards and universities across India are eligible to apply. There is no upper age limit for admission to any courses offered by the university. The examination will test candidates' knowledge in general knowledge, logical reasoning, English, numerical ability, and subject-specific topics.

Online Registration Process

Candidates must first click on the "Apply Online" button to register themselves on the official website. Upon registration, candidates will receive their registration number via SMS and email. Candidates should check their email spam box if the message is not received in the inbox. Next, candidates must click on the "Applicant Login" button to complete their form submission. Candidates must maintain the privacy of their login credentials and not share them with anyone. For security reasons, candidates should always click the logout button and close all windows before exiting the website.

Important Registration Guidelines

Online registration fees are payable through the online payment gateway only. No other mode of payment is accepted for registration. Candidates must download, print, and keep the duly filled application form for future reference. The IP address of all candidates is being recorded and monitored for security purposes. Candidates are responsible for maintaining the privacy of their login credentials. The schedule provided is tentative and subject to changes at the discretion of university authorities if required.

Eligibility Criteria for UG Programs

Candidates applying for undergraduate programs must have passed or appeared in Higher Secondary examination in general or vocational stream. The examination should be from West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent. Candidates from any recognized board or council in India are eligible to apply. For specific programs like B.Sc in Mathematics and Computing, mathematics must be a compulsory subject in 10+2. For BBA LL.B (Hons), candidates must have minimum 45% marks in 10+2 from any stream. SC/ST/OBC candidates must secure at least 40% marks in qualifying examinations.

Eligibility Criteria for PG Programs

Candidates applying for postgraduate programs must have passed or appeared in a 3 or 4-year bachelor's degree or honours program. The degree should be from a recognized university with minimum 140 credit points. Degrees acquired from IGNOU and open universities within state jurisdiction are also eligible. For specific PG programs, candidates must have a relevant bachelor's degree in the subject. Foreign students are not eligible to appear for the CET examination. Final year graduates can also apply subject to fulfillment of eligibility criteria.

Examination Details & Syllabus

The Common Entrance Test will be conducted in online mode (CBT) on May 31, 2026. UG examination will cover General Knowledge, Logical Reasoning, English, and Numerical Ability. PG Group 1 examination will cover General Knowledge, Logical Reasoning, English, Mathematics, Biology or Chemistry. PG Group 2 examination will cover General Knowledge, Logical Reasoning, English, and Numerical Ability. PG Group 3 (Law) examination will cover English, Legal Reasoning, and Legal Aptitude.
