CAT Application Form 2026: Registration Closed, How to Apply and Form Correction

The Common Admission Test (CAT) is conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) for admission to MBA, PGP, and other postgraduate management programmes at IIMs and over 1,200 participating B-schools. The CAT 2026 application form was open from August 3, 2026 to September 15, 2026 at iimcat.ac.in; the registration window is now closed. The application form correction window was available from October 5–6, 2026 and has since closed.

What is CAT Application Form 2026?

The CAT 2026 application form was the official online registration form through which students enrolled to sit for the Common Admission Test organised by IIM Indore. CAT 2026 is scheduled for November 29, 2026 in three computer-based test slots across nearly 170 cities in India. The entire application process was conducted exclusively online at iimcat.ac.in — no offline or physical form was available.

A single CAT application covers all IIM programmes you selected; you do not apply separately to each IIM. The CAT score is valid for one admission cycle only, so a fresh application is required every year.

CAT Registration Trends — Last 5 Years

CAT registrations peaked at 3.29 lakh in 2024 before a sharp 10% decline to 2.95 lakh in 2025 — the steepest single-year drop in nearly a decade. Attendance rates held steady between 82% and 89% across the five-year window; the lowest turnout was in 2021 and the highest in 2024. For CAT 2026 conducted by IIM Indore, final registration figures will be confirmed closer to the November 29 exam date.
