SRCC M.Com FAQs

Ques. I am a B.Com (Pass) graduate. Am I eligible for M.Com at SRCC?

Ans. Eligibility for M.Com at SRCC (under DU) requires a Bachelor's degree in Commerce or a related field with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks. B.Com (Pass) graduates are generally eligible, but the specific programme eligibility is defined in the DU PG Bulletin of Information each year. It is advisable to check the official DU admission bulletin for the exact list of qualifying degrees accepted for M.Com.

Ques. Are M.Com classes held at SRCC campus or at Delhi School of Economics (DSE)?

Ans. M.Com classes at SRCC are conducted at the Department of Commerce, Faculty of Commerce and Business, Delhi School of Economics (DSE), University of Delhi. The college affiliation is SRCC, but the teaching takes place at DSE. This is a common point of confusion for students.

Ques. Does SRCC M.Com have a dedicated placement cell, or do students rely on DSE placements?

Ans. SRCC has its own placement cell, which is primarily active for B.Com (Hons.) students. M.Com students at SRCC typically access placements through the Department of Commerce (DSE) placement cell, which has tie-ups with companies like Deloitte and other finance and consulting firms. Students have reported that M.Com placement support is not as structured as for B.Com, and many students proactively pursue internships and placements independently.

Ques. What is the CUET PG cutoff for M.Com at SRCC?

Ans. The CUET PG 2025 cutoff for M.Com at SRCC was 203 marks in Round 1 and 198 marks in Round 2 for the General category. Cutoffs vary each year based on the number of applicants and seat availability. Given SRCC's brand value, the cutoff tends to be among the highest for M.Com across DU colleges.

Ques. Is hostel accommodation guaranteed for M.Com students at SRCC?

Ans. No, hostel accommodation at SRCC is not guaranteed and is subject to availability. There are 145 seats in the boys' hostel and 126 seats in the girls' hostel, shared across all courses and years. Allotment is purely merit-based. Students from Delhi and NCR are generally not eligible for hostel accommodation. Many M.Com students opt for PG accommodations in nearby areas like Kamla Nagar, Roop Nagar, and GTB Nagar, which are within walking distance of the campus.

Ques. Can I pursue M.Com at SRCC while also preparing for CA/CMA?

Ans. Yes, many M.Com students at SRCC simultaneously pursue professional qualifications like CA (Chartered Accountancy) or CMA (Cost and Management Accountancy). The M.Com curriculum at DU has significant overlap with CA/CMA syllabi in subjects like Advanced Accounting, Taxation, and Corporate Laws. However, managing both simultaneously requires strong time management, as the M.Com programme has regular classes, internal assessments, and semester examinations.

Fees and Financial Aid:

It was my dream to study in SRCC AND it came true when I applied for post graduation. It has amazing study culture to be honest. I paid 28000 for a year that means approx 60000 for 2 years. Placement cell is excellent but they won't directly provide placement to mcom students as it is for bcom hons.. this is the only disadvantage during mcom.. so I got placement from DSE cell. Infrastructure is amazing. Professors are nice and punctual. Fees is also average but high as compared to other colleges Also fest are the best if happened.

Fees and Financial Aid:

Since the fees are quite low for post graduation in most of the colleges so this system doesn't work here like regular students, scholarships aren't as common, but you can apply for basic DU scholarships, which are usually need-based or offered under other categories provided by DU.
