Ans. PTU and GNDU both are well-reputed colleges that have unique strengths and weaknesses. While PTU is a bit flexible in terms of exam pattern, GNDU follows the rule of a year back. The choice of the college also depends on the course you will be studying. Usually, PTU fares better in most cases.  Ultimately, it all depends on the college or university campus you are taking admission. Most colleges in Punjab have a pathetic academic ambiance. So go for the main campus of any university else look for a decent college in your area. In all, GNDU offers better placement opportunities provided that you are on the main campus.Read more

Ques. How is PTU Jalandhar for a B.Tech?

Ans. One of my friends was admitted to PTU and does not recommend its B.tech course. The quality of education is below-average and you won't learn much from the university. The placement scenario is pathetic and more than 30% of the students remain unplaced. The highest salary package offered is 6 LPA and the top recruiters include Wipro, Tech Mahindra, HCL, etc. Students get placed in minor roles in software companies. The infrastructure however isn't that bad and the college has decent lab facilities and a well-stocked library. The hostel facilities are also decent and the food served is good.  Unless you are satisfied with a low package below INR 10 LPA, it's better to look for a better college.Read more

Ques. can I get admission in CGC Landran through PTU Counseling for CSE branch from outside Punjab of the general category? I got a 200000 rank in the JEE Mains but I got 68 percent in boards.

Ans. CGC Landran is a private engineering college located in Punjab, India. The admission process for the college is conducted through JEE Main and Punjab Technical University (PTU) counseling. As per the JEE Main rank mentioned by you, it is difficult to get admission to the CSE branch in CGC Landran. However, the final decision regarding admission will depend on various factors such as the number of available seats, the number of applicants, and the cutoff score. As per the admission rules, PTU colleges cannot admit students until the online admission is completed. Only the remaining are given admission directly. Usually, students don’t apply online. If you are adamant about PTU, go only to the PTU main campus or Guru Nanak Engg College Ludhiana. CGC should not be given much preference as it is all about inflated figures and misleading statistics. Read more

Ans. Computer Science and Engineering is one of the most preferred streams by the students while pursuing a B.Tech degree. DIT University Dehradun and ITM University Gwalior offer a B.Tech degree to highly efficient students. Admission DIT University: Admissions for the ECE branch is given through merit-based counseling based on the ranking of JEE Main. 10% of seats are reserved for XII board toppers. 10% of seats are reserved for NRI candidates. ITM University: For admission in ITM University Gwalior, applicants have to give the entrance exam named ITM NEST. Infrastructure Facilities DIT University: Project laboratory at DIT University consists of instruments like PCB Prototype Machine, 20 MHz Digital Storage Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyser, Wireless In-site Pro Module, Academic License of MATLAB. Ques. Which college is better for a BTech in CSE, Bharati Vidyapeeth Delhi or DIT University Dehradun?

Ans. Bharati Vidyapeeth Delhi is better than DIT University for a BTech in CSE. It is under IP university and has better brand recognition. Bharati Vidyapeeth placements are great, especially for CSE. Students usually receive an average CTC of around INR 5 LPA. While the highest package offered to the branch is around INR 12 LPA. Due to the location advantage, the recruiting companies visiting the campus placement is better too. Read more
