BCKV, West Bengal, was established in 1974. It offers various UG, PG and Ph.D. courses in the faculties of Agriculture, Horticulture and Agriculture Engineering. The college has extended campuses in Bankura, Susunia, Chhatna, Mohanpur and Burdwan. BCKV offers B.Sc (Hons) and B.Tech courses at the undergraduate level. At PG level, the university offers M.Tech and M.Sc courses. Ph.D. program in various disciplines is also offered by the university at the doctorate level.
Admission to B.Tech program is offered on the basis of a valid score in West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam (WBJEE). For B.Sc (H) candidates are shortlisted on the basis of merit. Those applying to M.Tech, M.Sc and Ph.D. courses, the selection process is based on the marks obtained in an entrance examination conducted by the university followed by a round of interview conducted by the university for the shortlisted candidates. At UG level, BCKV offers B.Tech and B.Sc (Hons.) courses in the field of Agriculture and Horticulture. These courses are offered in full-time mode. 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with minimum 50% marks (40% for the reserved categories) is the minimum eligibility criteria for admission. WBJEE score is mandatory for B.Tech while B.Sc admission is offered on the basis of marks in 10+2.

Selection Procedure:
- The candidate who want to apply for the courses at BCKV, have to apply online.
- All the candidates will have to appear for the entrance test for Masters and Ph.D. courses.
- The merit list will be prepared on the basis of the marks in entrance examination followed by the academic performance.
