Yes, I received a Global Student scholarship, which was a discount of 2000 GBP, so the tuition of mine was £25650 at last.
Not batch-mates, but friends in other majors received scholarships up to 10000 GBP since their courses were unpopular and seats were to be filled, mostly environmental courses.
A lot of students receive the £2000 discount with very few and exclusive classes of students that receive financial aid after displaying proper evidence.

Friend referral. My friend stayed at HamCam and he recommended the place.
The monthly rent was 396 GBP, including bills. The facilities provided were central and room heating, an oven, television, tv room within campus, a bar, turf, a church, a library, a washing machine area and instant damage replacements.
No challenges. We had confirmed this from the start.
Seek accommodation not too close to the university or city centre; that’s how you’d find it for cheap. The closer it is, the more expensive it gets.
30 mins by bus but we had a free bus pass for the entire year so it didn’t matter. Most indians stayed in the city centre or university accommodation, which was highly cost-inefficient compared to the facilities we were provided.

The University of Birmingham has ample of societies to cater the needs of different student interest and fields. There are societies which can help to develop important skill sets. There are social volunteering societies as well which can be added to the CV.
There are alot of guest lectures and seminars which are field related which can help students to learn in depth in their field.
Study and work assistance is provided through personal tutor, recorded digital resource on how to make good assignment, instant cv checker , online courses , assignment making related queries one on one meeting session, office hours with the professor and career events.

Dislikes

As there is academic difference in India and UK, the expectation on the way of writing assignment is very different and higher here in University of Birmingham. This can sometime make things more difficult to adjust to the new way of writing assignments and many lead to less grades if the student hasn't figured out how to do the assignment their way.
The grading given by professor is extremely strict and student has to go way over the line to get more 70 in each assignment. Usually most students don't get more than 75 in each assignment even after extreme efforts.
There are some societies in the university of Birmingham which are extremely dull and not engaging as other societies.This creates discrepancy for students who are really passionate to join the society to learn something, contribute and gain some skill sets.

I didn't face any challenges as such for my accommodations; however, for some accommodations, they require a UK Guarantor (a local guarantor for accommodation; if the payer forgets to pay the rent, the Guarantor will be contacted to make the payment on their behalf), which can be very tricky if the student doesn't have trusted local relatives or family members in the UK and also if you want to leave student accommodation for some reason, we need to pass on the accommodation contract to another person who is willing to take that remaining housing contract; however, it's not the case for rented apartments.
As for suggestions for students, student accommodation is a much better option if they take it nearby and helps to keep the person more socialized, as there are around 5 to 10 flatmates depending on the accomodation and also no need to pay extra for wifi, security and utilities.

I had received the Chancellor’s academic scholarship, which offers you a 40% discount but housing and other expenses will be on your own. We can seek university jobs like teaching assistant or research assistant to gain some income you need to be excellent in your studies and only then can you get this job. There are full scholarships as well; they are awarded to 3-5 students.

There is outside accommodation. I stayed with my relatives. Although I heard the university will help to find accommodation through student services. They will guide you through the procedure and payment. There are quite a few challenges if you stay in student accommodation, as it is expensive.
I did not pay any rent. If you have a friend, you do not need to find roommates. My place is far. I took a bus or someone dropped me off. It is best to find the outskirts since it is expensive nearby the university.

Yes, I received a scholarship of 10000 gbp for my fees. Eligibility was for everyone who were doing mba. The criteria were the essay on the question asked and the sop.
I got 10000 gbp for my scholarship.
I know two students got full scholarships and one got the same as me. With several students getting state scholarships from their respective states in india.
Approximately 5 students get scholarships from school per year in MBA.

I found my accommodation on the university website.
My monthly rent was around 450 gbp but this year it was raised to 580 gbp and wifi, electricity, water and heating were all included in it. The location is beautiful and is well connected.
Since it was a university accomodation i had no issues looking for the same, and there were people to help me get to my room when i arrived with all the welcome kit and gifts.
Look for cheaper accommodation in Selly Oak; it is nearest to the university and all supermarkets are nearby.
My accommodation is 1.3 miles from my college.

Large number of student societies which helps in building strong connections and a community.
Good and quiet study places for reading while on campus during lecture breaks.
Diversity of students that help in learning different cultures.

Dislikes

Some days are very hectic with back to back lectures, while on other days there is no lecture.
Lifts are not available in all building because of which I had to make use of stairs (2 floors) for 9 am lectures.
Very less vegetarian options available (being a vegetarian) at the campus so I had to prepare my lunch in the morning which is so disappointing.

First, to start with the superficial, the campus is beautiful - green, situated on a hill and a mix of modern and archaic architecture.
The professors are so understanding and well-read, it is amazing just to chat with them, let alone hear them in a classroom.
The students were of a variety of ages, something you don’t usually see in India. My youngest classmate was my age (22), while the oldest was 52! This presents the students with a range of experiences and ideas when we do group tasks.

Dislikes

The weather felt dry and too cold all the time, especially when the university is situated on a hill. You must hit the gym before you join uni!
The extremely polite nature of the professors sometimes made the discussion hours a bit futile. I appreciate the soft criticism, but often it felt that the real matter is not coming to the surface.
The campus sometimes felt too big - you must leave for class way before you plan, because you probably will be late!

Scholarship

Yes, I got a scholarship of £2,000. It was a region-based scholarship. It helped many students a lot; most of my friends received it. Fortunately, it has been increased to £5,000 due to the 125th Anniversary of the very first red-brick university, i.e., the University of Birmingham’s birth, and the university wishes to ease international students’ burden a little bit more.

My accommodation was on the campus, university-issued. It was the closest to the university. My rent was attached to my fees, so everything was paid on a 3-month basis through the payment plan that you can find on the website and portals of the university. I found my accommodation on the university website itself. I did not find any particular challenges.
I would recommend University issued accommodations, as when you are taken care of by the University, you don’t have to take care of fixing any water or electricity issues - everything is covered in the fees. The security is also better, I would say. But if you choose some other accommodation, the fees could be lower.

Course structure - Structure of the course is designed to ensure you are industry ready and with constant theoretical and practical assessment its a seamless transition for a student to enter a corporate.

Dislikes

Safety - This is one aspect that has to be careful of. Its gets little spooky after 9 PM. So one has to be slightly careful.
Part time job - With so many students around, it can be slightly difficult to get an ideal part time job.
Overall Cost - The cost can be slighly heavy on the pocket if one doesn't get scholarship and with extremely high cost of living , one has to be extremely careful on what he/she spends on.
