  • There are numerous clubs and events taking place, but for MSc students, they often lack the time to focus on them due to their busy academic schedules and coursework. No summer vacation either, because we will be working on the dissertation. So it's a jam-packed 1-year course.

Fees

  • It was around 35000 GBP

  • The University hosts several festivals throughout the year. It kicks off with Welcome
  • Week, during which students can meet different societies and groups. Students are also given several freebies, and the societies mentioned above host numerous welcome parties throughout the week, ideal for socialising with other students.
  • Throughout the semesters, one also enjoys a range of socialising events as well- both professional and social. These include networking sessions, seminars, potlucks as well as fun gatherings such as Halloween, Bollywood nights, Football screenings, Ceilidhs, Christmas Dinners and more.
  • The University of Edinburgh has several campuses spread across the city. Of them, the recently opened Future’s Institute is acclaimed to be the most beautiful campus in the world by some of the websites. Other notable campuses are the Business School,
  • Campus of the School of Religious Studies, Old College, King’s Building, Holyrood Campus and others. Each campus offers its unique environment.
  • Every campus has its library, café and one of them has its lounge as well. The
  • Pleasance and the Potterow are the two locations of the university equipped with student facilities like the gym, club rooms, café, bar, gaming areas and additional student services.

Fees

  • The tuition fees amount to £29,900, which is divided into three instalments, payable each semester. Accommodation costs are £8,932, with payment spread over four instalments, typically due every three months.
  • Additionally, living expenses can vary, typically ranging between £200 and £400 per month. This will depend on personal choices, such as how often you dine out or travel. If you wish to reduce your costs, there are ways to manage your spending more efficiently.

  • There are 2 campuses: George Square campus and Kings' Building campus. My course was based on the George Square campus.
Since it was a one-year course and it was very intensive, I didn't have too much time to attend tests and attend club events.
There is ample opportunity for sports enthusiasts.
  • The university has its own gym - Pleasance which was world class facilities, indoor badminton courts, basketball courts, squash courts, etc.

Fees

  • The fee was £35,900 for a year for the tuition.
  • For the accommodation, it was around £4500 for one year.
  • I paid the fees in three instalments: 50%, 25%, 25%. There were different options to choose how you want to pay it, some people even paid everything in 1 installment at the beginning.
  • Monthly expenses :-
  • Transportation: £56 a month for the bus card
  • I have already mentioned the rent (accommodation) above.
  • Groceries and eating out: £200-300

  • The University is a city University so it has multiple buildings spread all over the entire city of Edinburgh. It won't be possible to provide a list of locations as it is massive. There is a vast range of facilities including various study hubs, libraries, gym centres, sports centres and so on. Edinburgh Fringe Festival is the biggest festival that happens in Edinburgh and also takes place in the University buildings.

Fees

  • Tuition fees- 28200, Accommodation fees- 8045.6.
  • There are multiple ways to pay the fee. I pay the tuition fee in 3 installments and the accommodation fee in 10 installments. Other living expenses (excluding the above) would be around 400-500 GBP at max, but usually lower (around 300-400).

Overview

I chose Edinburgh because I have been here before and l love the city. Plus, the university has great resources and a fascinating history. The faculty is renowned and the research put is also great.

The campus infrastructure is exceptional. There are a lot of societies and sports clubs to choose from and the library is great and open 24/7. I was part of the diagnostic society which is a dialectics or debate society but very unique.

Overview

I chose the university for its ranking but when I applied the ranking was 16 in the world now it is 27 in the world according to QS. I now realize that ranking plays a very small part in the facilities provided, as all universities here offer the same facilities. My experience has been average as according to me the university didn’t provide adequate academic support that students needed in terms of subjects that were new and challenging for most of my class. As a class representative, I took a lot of the concerns to them and the university didn’t do anything about the problems we faced as international students.

Campus life is really good, you get to make friends easily. The facilities available are great too, they almost have everything here to make you feel at ease and comfortable.

Overview

I chose this university because of it's location, job market and job security. Additionally the QR ranking, provisions in terms of qualifications of staff and amenities within the university contributed towards the selection of my university. University life has been pretty good in terms of the different things that I have learnt and my new found independence. Additionally, the academics will be this in terms of the material that was provided, skills that I have obtained through my coursework and assignments. All of which honed me with skills that are very much needed in today’s industry. Additionally, Masters abroad has given me the opportunity to interact with different people. All of us belong to different cultures and I have had many meaningful experiences.

University provides many provisions for activities within the campus as well as beyond the campus. Also, have many support systems that are due in finding groups or clubs that you are best suited for. Many of them have a membership for which you have to pay but it is reasonably priced. The university also organizes many events, be it extra curricular or academic. Do you offer a fully funded scholarships for undergraduate internatiol students from Iraq like me? I want to apply for a pharmacology course and I want to know about the available scholarships and if it starts at 2025 fall. I'm from a distinguished school we study the scientific subjects in English.
