Life of a student at KITS

the curriculum is pretty good and certain subjects such as stem cell technology, molecular biology and animal biotechnology insipired me and provided me with insights on further steps of my career, areas where the curriculum can be improved is the organization of how the portions are covered and made sure that they are rushed. as i have mentioned earlier, the internals are pretty easy to score and the end semester exam could reduce the magnitude of content that is being expected due to time constraints.

students are eligible for campus placements from 6th semester, various companies have visited such as biocon, nestle,premier biosoft, etc, highest package would be 6 lpa and average is 3 lpa, the placement percentage is around 85 percentage, and i plan to pursue masters

the yearwise fee i paid was 180000 rupees for tuition and the hostel fee would differ according to the type of room you choose as well as the type of mess you choose, my batchmates had similar fee structures except for the ones with a certain grades would be given a scholarship of 40-60k rupees a year.

there is a common annual event for the university called the megaplay that happens around the month of december every year, also a fair called mindkraft which is a fusion between recreational and technical events, the library is very well equipped with support staff, wide range of books and places for students to read them. every classroom is provided with a projector and a board to deliver concepts optimally. extracurricular activities and sports are also very good in karunya. the respective teams are well equipped with oppurtunities and gear to help students shine among competition. there are a wide range of clubs in karunya such as music club, nature club, outreach club, etc which is mandatory for a student to be a part of.

the rooms are fairly spaced and is provided with basic amenities such as tables and cupboards, the meal quality is good as the students are given a choice between 5 different cuisine that includes tamilnadu, kerala, andhra, north india and NRI where nri cuisine demands a bit more money. all of them are fairly pricedthe registration for hostel is a must as mentioned earlier and it is pretty simple , staying outside is prohibited if you are not a resident of coimbatore

i had considered st josephs college ,chennai and KITS, coimbatore and when i did my research i got to know about the infrastructure that karunya provides as well as the supportive nature of the faculty, i havent been rejected by any institute, the admission process is very simple in karunya where the admissions office should be contacted and provide the necessary documents and the rest will be taken care of.

faculty to student ratio is fair in my opinion and the relationship between students are also good as they help with any relevant queries we have, my favourite faculties were Dr. Reya Issac and Dr. Levin Anbu as they have guided me with academics as well as my character development, i would consider them as the best faculties and there are no faculties i hate . exams are conducted pretty often with 3 internals and 1 end semester exam.personally i think internals are quite easy to score and end semesters are tough becuase i feel there isnt a fair amount of time provided.

the hostels are well equipped with amenities such as gym, canteens and essentials, students are allowed to visit the library but only with prior permission and this applies for boys only. usually the hostel premises closes movement by 8:30 pm. night life at karunya is not allowed for safety concerns
