What Students Say
Likes
- Supportive and approachable faculty, active student societies, good exposure through events and competitions and green campus
Dislikes
- Infrastructure could be improved in a few areas and administrative process can sometimes be slow
Course Curriculum Overview
I would rate the course curriculum as quite relevant and well structured. The focus is on the core commerce subjects in the course. It gives a good understanding of basic concepts. While the curriculum is mostly theory based, adding more practical learning and real life examples would make it better
Internships Opportunities
The college provides decent internship exposure mainly through societies and placement cell updates. Students often get internships with companies and startups some of which are stipend based. Many internships involve live projects such as market research, data analysis, social media campaigns, etc. These experiences help students gain practical skills and industry exposure
Placement Experience
Placements at the college are moderate and fairly decent for commerce courses. Students usually become eligible for placements in the final year. The average package is around 5-6 LPA with higher packages for a few profiles. A good number of students get placed while others opt for higher studies or professional courses
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure at Sri Venkateswara College is quite affordable. For B.Com (Hons) the yearly fee is around 20000 which includes tuition and other basic college charges. The fees are mostly the same for all students with some relaxation for reserved categories as per DU rules. The fees have not increased much over the years
Campus Life
Campus life at Sri Venkateswara College is lively and engaging. The annual fest Nexus usually takes place around February-March and various academic and cultural events are organised throughout the year. The library has a good collection of books that are easily accessible to students. Classrooms are well maintained with basic facilities available. The college encourages sports, cultural activities and society participation. Student run societies and clubs play a big role in making campus life interactive and enjoyable
Admission
I chose Sri Venkateswara College because of its strong academic reputation, active campus life and good exposure through societies. Admission to the college was through the CUET exam as per DU process. Students need to meet the eligibility criteria and clear the cut off for their chosen course
Faculty
The faculty is mostly approachable and helpful and student teacher interaction is decent. Many teachers are open to doubt and guide students when needed. Teaching style varies but most professors focus on concepts clarity. The course structure is simple and concept based. Exams are held every semester and are of moderate difficulty
Night Life
Nightlife on campus is limited. The campus shuts soon after classes. Students mostly hang out around Satya Niketan which has many cafes and food places to relax after college. The area is generally safe in the evening. These casual meet ups, food outings help students unwind and enjoy
