Course Curriculum Overview

5

Food and nutrition articles in newspaper made me to take this course. As it had full scope in that time. Actually curriculum is very poor in preparing us for real world application. Practical session must include more of industrial visits and projects related to industry. We had enough time to study .

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee for M.Sc food science and nutrition -20000/year for govt seat 80000/ private seat Fee for B.Sc (cbz) -2500/ yr Fee concession scholarship. -full fee paid Vidyasiri scholarship for non-govt hostel residents- 24000

Campus Life

5

Deepavali in October, Chrismas in december, Onam celebration, holi in April are festival celebrated here. Good books of good authors available but not specific and not sufficient also. Facilities inside the classroom is good. Sports day is not that intresting as participant are very few people like physical education department and MSW. Many students running such social groups from different departments.

Hostel Facilities

5

Ours is govt hostel. Total 98-100 members used to stay here. In our room we are totally 12 members. Room facilities are good. Meal quality is actually good. Menu also good. In govt website we have registered for free hostel. Konaje is the location of this hostel.

Admission

No i have applied only to this college but to different courses. I got govt seat in food science and nutrition. So i have taken the same course. No exams for this college. Based on meritlist and category. Admission will be done here.

Faculty

5

1:8 ratio. Faculty to students relationship is good when compared to other departments. Since all are fresh teachers. We used to approach teachers easily as they were very close to us. Shruthi Sukumar is my best teacher. Because she always used to lift us in positive way . I don't want to specify the name. Partiality between students is the main reason i hate this teacher. Total 2 internals and one sem exam per semister. Total 4 sems. So 4 sem exam and 8 internal exams. For each subject. Our course is easy. No difficulty according to me. But some people used to fail in this also. 2-3 people. Actually course curriculum is not relavent to our future jobs.

Night Life

5

No gym facilities here. We had one cafeteria where cost is high. We used to buy only icecreams here that is only hangyo butterscotch cone for 15 rs. Infront of cafeteria we had garden to sit and chitchat. Our govt hostel is too far. On the way we had many shops where we used to eat pups, samosa and cold drinks. Sharif anna shop is famous near our hostel. Hostel gate closes after 6:30 . We have to come hostel before that. If any emergency is there we have to inform hostel aunty. Our hangout places are ganesh hotel, aunty xerox shop, university society and in garden area. Places are not safe for girls since its a interior area where human activities are very less

Course Curriculum Overview:

I liked this biotechnology course in degree(Bsc) and i wanted to continue this course with higher studies. Hence this university is reputed one in Karnataka.. i choose this one and I got the seat and I am very happy for this. The teaching methods are really good but it depends on particular lecturers, how they teach .. For main sem exam the time was around 3 hours for 70 marks and it was moderate and can be manageable

Our particular course dint had any placement drives. But now, from this year they do have for M.Sc. DAN students too. I think its a good move. Other culinary department students had 100% placements as claimed by the University. After getting degree i am interested in pursuing my Ph.D.
