Course Curriculum Overview

4

Specially about my course, it is really practical. You get to know about so many economic models and their application through a mix of a lot of maths. It brings in a whole new mindset to look at things going around you. It is highly relevant as well which is clearly visible from the fact that last year this course brought the highest package of 25lpa in the college.

Fees and Financial Aid

in my 31435, tution fee is 180, university development fee =1500, university facilities and services charge=1500, college development fund=3000, college lab maintennce fee=1700, library maintenance=1700. other are multiple small costs. I can share breakdown sheet if you need more details. I am unaware of the fees breakdown of other categories but according to me there is not much difference.

Campus Life

4

The social life here is good , especially the college societies. The societies here are really active especially those related to finance, entrepreneurship, consulting , marketing etc. Many kinds of sports here are also available such as table tennis, shooting, archery, basketball, football, hockey etc.

Admission

So I gave CUET to get into this college, which works for admission in many great universities like bhu,DU, etc. I applied in multiple reputed colleges in du such as srcc, hindu college, KMC etc. However, I wasnt able to get into srcc as my first marks were 7 lacking for the cutoff. The reasons were personal but it was a hard time for me to cope with it. The cutoffs for eco hons this year for my college for my category was 810

Faculty

4

so in my course as I am a first year have not made interactions with each member of the economics department. However, overall the faculty is really good and approachable. They cater to your queries really well and try to do their best as I have experienced. Stil, this may vary from course to course. The student to faculty ratio is I would say not that great as one mam is handling 70 students, but it still works out for the core . however for the sec subjects it is not good as my sec there are 600 students and only one teacher

Interview Experience

4

I had to give cuet for the admission, the test pattern changed a lot this year as the total marks for a subject are now 250 and you have 1 hr for the same. I did prepare for around a month for that. Used some study materials and pyq for the same

Night Life

5

As my college is in north campus, a hub for students, the nightlife here is really good. Whole campus is lit well in the night and students can roam around and explore. There are many good places to visit nearby which provides full enjoyment to the students.

Other Applied Colleges

Shri Ram College of Commerce - [SRCC] | Bachelor of Commerce [B.Com] {Hons.}

I wanted to dive into the field of economics and was also not able to attain the cutoff for the abovesaid college

Campus placements have been good from what I have noticed this year. BBA and BAE students get almost the same packages and same companies hire the students. Average package for BAE students is 5.5 Lakhs and for BBA it's a little high at 6 lakhs or so.

Our college has a very active and effective placement cell. Major companies like Goldman Sachs, Bain among many others come on campus for not just placements but also internships. Average and Median packages are between 8 and 10 lakh per annum, with highest packages going up to 25 lakhs. Many also go for postgraduate education, such as MBA after CAT, or to reputed colleges like the DSE for MA.

The median package offered to UG was 6 lakhs per annum, Top 9 students were offered a median salary of 9,00,000 per annum. Around 490 were placed From campus placements of the college out of 1300 students eligible For the placements, These are only approximate figures and not exact. The highest package offered from the college is around 14,00,000 per annum. Talking about my plans after getting the degree is going for highest studies, Either Masters in economics or MBA in business economics.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Too vague to understand, feels extra burden of unnecessary irrelevant topics , extra papers like SEC/VAC simply add to the burden while barely providing with any skills and values as their name suggests . Studying them and preparing for exams add extra stress and unnecessary burden on them , diverting their focus from their core papers , which are already too huge and they study materials or readings simply fail to assist . Areas for improvement would be - proper structured study materials , also proper structured practical subjects / papers for students where they can actually learn or gain knowledge/skills which will be advantageous in their future .

I would say the placement opportunities are more available for science , commerce background students in the college there are rarely any placement opportunities for humanities background students . Mostly students starts engaging in placement in the fifth semester .severky companies visited campus every year including Deloitte , EY.TCS etc . Around 40 - 50 percent students from professional courses get the placement annually .even for the students not opting for placement the exposure n the strong alumni network of college help them secure good opportunities outside campus
