Hansraj College: A 3 Dimensional Review

The thing that i liked the most is the exposure here. Since Hansraj is located in the north campus so you meet the best minds not only from your college but from various other colleges as well, which provides great exposure and opens possibilities.
The faculty here is very good. They are masters of their profession and very understanding at the same time. They are always ready to help you not just in academics, but beyond it as well.
Hansraj has the most number of socities in the DU circuit. You get to interact with a lot of like minded people and ultimately work on something fruitful. You name it and there is a society for that. It really helps you to build your personality.

Dislikes

The infrastructure is not that good, however it is improving. A new auditorium with a new building is being constructed. Additionally the boys hostel is being constructed as well. So they are working on improving the infrastructure.
The politics culture, not just in Hansraj but in entire DU is irritating. People barge in between the classes to promote themselves and dissappear after they win, however you can always seclude yourself from that. There's no compulsion to take part.
Hansraj administration is slightly on the tougher side. The fests and other events usually end before evening, but you can always visit the fests of surrounding colleges which are pretty good, again a perk of being in north campus.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of Hansraj College is quite active. You are eligible to sit for campus placement offers from 5th semester onwards. Companies like Deloitte, capgemini arw frequent recruiters for several posts and positions. The highest offered package is somewhere around 22000 with the average being at 700000-800000. Not all students get placed on campus, however thr hands on training and learning makes you industry ready, making you eligible amd worthy to apply for off campus placement opportunities. Many students prefer not to sit for campus placements and rather opt for higher studies after graduation. I plan to do the same after getting my undergraduate degree.

Location of the college is good as nearby accommodation facilities and other important things are easily available
The infrastructure of college is overall good if compared to other college of du
The college holds a good Goodwill which gives you a platform to leverage it

Dislikes

The hostel facilities are not available for boys
Many of the Infrastructures are going under the reconstruction

Placement Experience:

There is a placement cell in Hansraj College which does provides placements of highest package around 25 lakh of last year and being median package around 7 lakhs, but this for selective courses like economics and BCom Honours and computer science Honours & few of mathematics honours while rest of the courses required to have different kind of skill sets can also go for placement depending up on the role that the companies bring to be hired for

The professors are extremely experienced and great at teaching, they’re cooperating, kind and helpful. As and when you need any help, they are available. Further, everyone is assigned a professor as a mentor from their dep. who we can reach out to.
The infrastructure is really good, we have adequate classrooms, labs and so on. These have air conditioners and all required facilities for teaching. Moreover, it caters to all including children with special needs and is extremely inclusive.
Multiple extracurricular opportunities are available to all students, these are in form of societies, conferences, training sessions, camps and so on. The college focuses on holistic development of all rather than simply one dimensional growth.

Dislikes

Sometimes administrative work can be slow and cumbersome.

Placement Experience:

Our college has a very active and effective placement cell. Major companies like Goldman Sachs, Bain among many others come on campus for not just placements but also internships. Average and Median packages are between 8 and 10 lakh per annum, with highest packages going up to 25 lakhs. Many also go for postgraduate education, such as MBA after CAT, or to reputed colleges like the DSE for MA.

diverse students create a competitive environment which helps students from remote areas to learn
placement and internships opportunities are provided the ratio of boys to girls vary acc to the course in boom its around 1:3

Dislikes

students are even admitted at low scores in courses like ba prog and Hindi and Sanskrit hons thus they create havoc for serious students

placement are provided by college and 10LPA is generally achieveable students after 4th semester are eligible to sit for placements ey delloite bain accenture blackstone and other top companies visit highest package goes upto 35LPA and avg package is 8LPA my plan after my degree is to clear the civil services and become an IPS officer in home cadre

Wanna know about the college.

Likes

I love the crowd of the college. I am currently in my first year and already I have met too many people including my batchmates, seniors and many more and the people I have met till are very wonderfull and passionate about their career.
The quality of food that we get here is also very good. The dhosa of canteen pr the cold coffee of Nescafe everything is very good.
The behaviour of the faculty. All the faculty members are very good as they treat every student equally and solve their queries as soon as possible

Dislikes

The wifi. Sometimes my mobile can't get network inside the college so I use the college wifi but it also doesn't work too well

Placement Experience:

Yes our college provides placements to the student and the students who are in their final semester(6 semester) are eligible for the placement. The companies which comes to college are Kpmg, dillote, Ey, bain and company etc. The average package is around 9 lakh and the highest package is 36.5 lakh.

The Hansraj College campus is pretty much holistic and gives a peaceful vibe.
The campus area is also big of about 15 acres which provides facilities such as cafeteria, library, playground etc.
Teaching methodology of teacher is also pretty good and they teach in laymen language which helps student grasp concepts from its roots.

Dislikes

The clubs and communities especially in my college are not developed till such extent that it can solely land up internship opportunities to students.
The foods and beverage prices are pretty much high in canteen making it unaffordable for many students.
Office work which need less work still take so much time.

Placement Experience:

Placements of my college is pretty much decent and placement percentage for courses such as BCom hons and Economics hons etc. is 60% and average package is 9,00,000 pa and highest package is 36,50,000 pa

Hansraj College-All you need to know

Likes

I liked the environment and ambiance of my college. It fills me with positivity and happiness
I also liked my college socities. This college offers various societies to cater every interests.
The students, teachers and seniors all are very friendly and supportive. You'll never feel alone or left out here.

Dislikes

The 7 subject course is a bit tiring according to me. This leads to less focus on core subject and mental exhaustion at the end of the day.

Placement Experience:

Students of 3rd semester become eligible for campus placements. Companies like pwc, EY, deloitte has visited our campus and offered packages according to the competency of student. 35-40% people do get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to move abroad and pursue ACCA.

Hansraj college- A blessing

Good internship opportunities are available which help provide exposure to students and get an edge in their career
Mentors who are provides to us in college who are always there to guide us and help us whenever we are in need or when we have some query to be answered
Library, the environment of library is so much serene it motivates students to study. Moreover it is fully air conditioned hence no kind of difficulty

Dislikes

Strict attendance to be maintained at 67% as students are also engaged in society work various off campus activities like internships projects and thus are unable to meet the set criteria
Sometimes there are really short deadlines for assignments which make difficult for students to cope up and submit
Some courses have their classes even on saturdays and classes ending late at 5 in the evening due to sec and vac which is really late

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is really relevant and comprehensive. For eg in bcom we study business law, company law, Human Resources management, marketing, financial and corporate accounting, finance, busines maths, stats, income tax, cost accounting, economics as ge so all these are really great well structureda and do have real life practical applications therefore i think my course is really very well aligned and comprehensive in terms of the business world.

Inside Hansraj

Likes

Hansraj College provides sufficient networking opportunities to build my career. So, placements and internships are definitely a plus point at Hansraj.
Hansraj College also has great infrastructure, much better than rest of the Delhi University Colleges. Also, we have air conditioned classrooms unlike other colleges.
The faculty here is great and well educated. Also, they are considerate to the needs of the students.

Dislikes

The administration is somewhat slow here. It would take days and sometimes weeks to resolve our issues.
Hansraj lacks an auditorium (though it is in a the process of being constructed)
The way classes are scheduled (the time table), makes it really tough for day scholars to complete their attendance.

Placement Experience:

College provides placement opportunities, mainly for Economics and Commerce Graduates. The median package revolve around INR 1200000 while the highest package can reach around INR 2500000. Consulting and accounting firms like Bain, EY, Deloitte are the most common recruiters. Students are eligible to apply for placement in their final year only.

HANSRAJ COLLEGE- A DESERVING TOP 3

The faculty particularly of my course is very good and supportive with thorough experience in their respective fields.
Campus is very vibrant, there are places where in breaks students can chill and hangout until the next class.
Overall the infrastructure also prevails, college is held with ACs in all the classrooms

Dislikes

I think the library timing which only till 5pm can be considered as a dislike for me.

Course Curriculum Overview:

History is a very comprehensive subject which requires deep knowledge and complete understanding of the past events. According to me this is course perfectly fits in the frame for 'close to perfect' course for History enthusiasts. Having knowledge of History of different areas helps to create a multi polar view of understanding History, which in return helps in higher academic studies.

One of my friends graduated with a B.A Economics (H) from Hansraj last year. So, I think I can answer your question.

Here are some of the best things about the institute.

This college has an ‘old world’ feel. The infrastructure of the college is great.
The fee structure is affordable as compared to other private colleges.
It has some incredible graduates, including Shahrukh Khan, Ranvijay, and Anurag Kashyap. The list is really long.
Amazing crowd, the individuals here are both fun and hardworking at the same time. Admission is based on merit in qualifying examinations.
Some of our professors are truly amazing, you will not find such professors at other colleges, even SRCC.
There are many societies to explore like dramatics, photography society, and fine arts society, etc.
The hostel was my friend’s home for three years, and there is simply no better place to stay when studying at Hansraj. However, it doesn’t have a girls’ hostel.
North Campus has the best college location.

You will not regret choosing the institute.
