Course Curriculum Overview

4

Yeah the Btech in IT is considered the best branch of the college and yes the curriculam prepares us for real world application and further academic pursuit ,the college also has program that helps in further academic pursuit .The course curriculam is changing and getting more updated as the college has been granted Autonomous status .Exams occur every 1&1/2 month ,that is the internal exams and the main Semester exam occur at the end of 6 month .Exams are of moderate difficulty and u can pass easily if u study the teacher's suggestion .

Internships Opportunities

4

TCS ,Infosys ,Cognizant are the three major companies that offer internships and too a lesser extent IBM and also Amazon .Stipend is usually 20,000 approx montly for TCS ,Infosys or Cognizant meanwhile for IBM and Amazon stipend is usually around 40,000 ,other companies also provide internships and usually u can start getting internships from 5th semester itself. You need to do more programs on coding and have proper knowledge of JavaScript ,CSharp and for better oppurtunities DSA etc

Placement Experience

4

Students become eligible for campus placement starting from 6th semester ,meanwhile u can also get paid internship from 5th semester itself .The companies which visited the campus most frequently are Cognizant ,TCS ,Infosys ,IBM ,PwC ,BMC ,Tavisca ,Wipro ,Amazon .Tavisca provided over 12 LPA while BMC provided over 14 LPA ,meanwhile in 2024 ,a new record of highest package emerged which is of 21 LPA.The Average package is 480,000 rupee CTC .Over 80 to 90% of students are placed and the college has a very good alumni network which provides u with referrals and possible jobs.I plan to join a IT company after getting my degree

Fees and Financial Aid

The total fee course is 600000 rupees ,which u will need to pay in the course of 4 year in each semester .The semester fee is almost 75,000 .For students of SC ,ST the fees structure is less than half of the general students .You can avail all sorts of scholarship approved by the West Bengal Government and can also avail for meritorious student fee deduction from the college authorities .For semester exams ,you have to pay a additional 1500 rupees .

Campus Life

4

The names of the annual and technical events include Regalia ,Bihaan & Game of thrones ,while Regalia and Bihaan are cultural events Game of thrones is sporting event while it has a tech event known as Techtrix .Bihaan usually takes place in September or October meanwhile Game of Thrones and Techtrix takes place in February to March ,meanwhile Regalia takes place in June ,July .You can avail all sorts of books in library from study books to novels etc and is easily available .The college has Visual boards in each of the class with projectors and has lift facilities at each floors .Sporting activities is quite less compared to other colleges as small campus area .Students run many social media group lile unstop ignitersclub.rcciit ,rcciit confessions ,rcciit_kolkata ,rcctalkies etc while the others provide comic relief unstop ignitersclub.rcciit is a serious group covering all aspects from coding to different technical skills covered within and imparts valuable lessons for future placement drives

Admission

I applied for Netaji Subhas Engineering College (NSEC) and also got confirmed admission but its fees structure was 15-20% higher than my current college RCCIIT & also it was very less accessable and had no hostel facilities. I choosed this college because it is autonomous and government run by the State of West Bengal and is affordable and also has good accessability with satisfactory placement report . Yes i got rejection from some other colleges ,i didnt make it due to my WBJEE rank being not any good .My score was below their cutoff You can join RCCIIT by WBJEE counselling through your JEE or WBJEE scores .Almost 80% students are inducted through WBJEE and 20% is left for JEE students .College has no management quota .The cutoff for WBJEE for RCCIIT starts from 10,000 for CSE and runs upto 90,000 for Electrical Engineering

Faculty

5

The Faculty to student ratio is well maintained ,like 20:1 ,each students recieve their mentors ,whom they can contact for their grievances or other problems.Faculty is usually friendly and easily approachable on most cases .The faculties i liked the most are Professor Sukhendu Mukherjee of Physics ,Professor Avijit Saha ,our first year co-ordinator and Professor Sadhan Kumar Dey ,our first year UHV teacher and also Rounak Sir of first year mechanical Lab ,they are very friendly and helps u in all cases .Usually 3 internal exams take place and a final semester exam take place at the end of each semester .Exams are reasonable and teachers provide u with most important questions to prepare

Interview Experience

4

No i did not face any Group Discussion ,Interview or Written Test for admission .The process of admission is through WBJEE counselling conducted by WBJEEB where u can enter through your WBJEE and JEE scores .It usually consists of three rounds and u get a college at each round and u can choose to pass over it and move for the next round

Night Life

4

Nightlife around campus includes visiting public buildings near Beleghata ,CIT more as u are in the city of Kolkata ,u can easily avail metro .The college does not have its own cafetaria and college library closes off at 6 PM .College campus closes after 6 PM and college hasnt got its own hostel so u need to stay in PG .Famous hangout places include Park Street ,Victoria Memorial ,Prinsep Ghat etc.It is safe to roam around at night and also as Kolkata is a metropolitan city ,u can avail all sort of item till late nights

Other Applied Colleges

Netaji Subhash Engineering College - [NSEC] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)

Well as far as mh knowledge students get to placements from 6th semester itself . Well there are placement classes from 3rd semester itself . The placement track record of the college is quite good with most year about 90% gets placed with good companies comming like Deloitte, EY GDS , JP MORGAN, Oracle , offering high amount of placement offers like around 20+ lpa . Well I am not sure about my plans maybe if the palacement is good I'll take it or will be preparing for GATE (Whose courses are also provided from college .)

Placement Experience:

The senario of placement in all of the private colleges of West Bengal are more or less the same. Majority of the students are placed in Service Based Companies like TCS, Wirpo, Infosys, HCL, Accenture, Cognizent, Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, etc. These companies offer anywhere from 3.6 to 6 lpa packages. Only a handful of Product based companies come in these private colleges and cherry pick 2-3 student per college only. This is the reality of all the private colleges, not just our college. If you want to crack a high paying job, you will have to do it off campus. The students are eligible for internships from the 6th semester itself. The college does try to provide internship to students but only a few students end up getting the internships and most students need to find internships on their own. Some companies which came in 24-25 session which offered an internship and PPO are Amazon, SAP Labs, Accenture, etc. For a detailed placement stat, go to our college's website and look for training and placement stats. The college is honest in putting these stats. The stats are mostly reliable. The highest off campus placement in 24-25 session was by Snehadeep De, who secured a SDE role in Amazon with 47 lpa CTC. This was off campus so the college had no role to play here. The highest on campus placement was by two students in the company Juspay. They were offered the SDE role for 27 lpa CTC. The average placement of all the CS branches will be around 5-6 lpa. And approximately around 60-65% of the students get placed. This is the ground reality. And its the same in all of the WB private colleges. If you want to keep a backup option in case you don't want to get a 3.6 lpa job then start preparing for GATE, CAT or Civil Services from your second year. Its always preferred to have a backup option cause you can't trust a private college for providing you jobs.

The minimum placement opportunities of our college is good . If you are in good in aptitude, Group discussions and your CV and technical skills are strong then you can easily crack a 7-10lpa job from our college. Overall our college provides decent opportunities for our placements but you need to maintain certain GPA to sit on those placements

After the 6th semester we are eligible for the internship, also we can apply for both on campus and off campus placements. In our college some companies like Geotech, Infosys, Code Clouds, Unibit solutions visit every year. Average package is in the range of 3.5-5 Lakhs per annum and highest package is nearly 6-7Lpa. But post covid time our placement record decreased a bit. Nearly about 80-85% of CSE students get placed every year. Also I am currently appearing in interview of different companies for placement.
