Everything you Need to know about MBBS at DRIEMS

I chose MBBS as it was my dream to pursue this profession. This curriculum prepares me for the future exposure to real people and their treatment. There are 3 internal exams and one final professional exam per year.

Every MBBS student has to complete one year compulsory internship in the college and stipend will be decided by college. As this is a new college , there is no intern batch present currently. So stipend amount is not known yet.

Fees paid in the first year- 9.3 lakhs Fees paid for 2nd year- 8.9 lakhs Total fees for the course- 40 lakhs 5 thousand This difference in fees is due to some one time caution fees deposited in the first year which will be refunded at the end of the course. All category students pay the same fee. NRI quota people pay 6.5x4 lakhs per year course fees and hostel charges and other charges remain the same. No such scholarship from the college. Tution fee- 6.5 lakhs x 4.5 Hostel fee- 1.5lakhsx 5 Transportation -15000x5 Sports and culture - 20000x5 Exam fee- 15000x5 College caution money-5000(one time) refundable Lab caution money- 25000(one time) refundable Hostel caution money-10000(one time) refundable Student kit- 40000

No cultural events organised yet. All books related to MBBS are present in our Library. All basic facilities available in the classrooms with digital boards, projectors, AC etc. Well maintained sports complex, swimming pool and Gym present. There is a big playground for students where the RANJI trophy cricket match also takes place between different states. All cultural clubs have been made for students participation.

Bigs rooms Double sharing rooms with 2 fans and AC (for those who opt), 4 big cupboards with 4 compartments each. Meal quality is average Menu is average Everyone who takes admission in this college will be allotted rooms in the hostel.

I applied for Hitech medical College and hospital , Rourkela I did not opt for the college as the location of the college was too far from my house with no direct transport system. DRIEMS is present nearer to cuttack which is easily accessible. Admission is done through OJEE counselling after qualifying the NEET entrance examination.

Total students in one batch- 100 There are 3departments- physiology, biochemistry and anatomy They have 6-7 faculty members per department Exams are a bit difficult as compared to other government colleges in the state. Pass to fail ratio is still unknown as we were the first batch and our results are not yet declared. I did not like one faculty from anatomy department. I liked the professors of biochemistry and physiology.
