SCB Medical College

The college is one of the best medical colleges in our country. The patient inflow really helps in exposure and learning. Teachers strive to teach everything they know to students. The institute gives really comfortable work experience to doctors as well as students.

The course spans 4 and a ½ years with an extra 1 year of internship. It includes preclinical, para clinical as well as clinical teaching. There are in total 4 Professional MBBS examinations at the end of 2nd, 5th, 7th and 9th semesters.

Our college has great job opportunities, undergraduate students are placed for 2 years at peripheral areas to serve the people. The college provides a 1 year internship during which we get a stipend of Rs. 20000. It's a great learning experience.

Our college hosts all sort of events. We have an annual college function which includes cultural and co curricular activities. We have gym and a ground for athletic events. There are also academic events such as quizzes and debates. Art and literature is also encouraged.

The fee structure is really feasible. The annual fee ranges between 25000 to 30000. The total cost for whole 4½ years is less than 1,50,000. The hostel fee is close to 10000 which is really low and is included in annual fees. We can also apply for government scholarship plans.

The scholarship is offered by the state government is Odisha. We can avail it based on our income certificates that we provide. It grants 10000 per year. There are other scholarships as well for which we may apply

The labs and the sports and gym facilities are top notch. They have been renovated and gym has been completely remade. Labs and gyms have air conditioning available. We have a ground where we can involve in athletic events.

The senior students are really helpful. Seniors strive to provide us with a very comfortable environment and help us when we face any problems in studies or in clinics when we deal with patients. They involve in all the activities and support in organizing events.

You have to apply for NEET entrance exam. The cut-off for the college is based on the results. If qualified, you have to get your documents verified post which you will be required to visit the college and get your medical examination done before admission.

The faculty of my institution are one of the finest in the state. They have years of practice in clinical field and are well adept at teaching. They interact with students while teaching and know well what a student should be taught.
