Complete Review of IIT Gandhinagar

The main benifit at IIT Gandhinagar is that the class size is small as compared to the older IITs. The curriculum is same in the other IITs, ie. "Very Hectic". But this really motivated many of my friends to explore the research part of the education, which is very important if you want to pursue further studies. There are two exams in a semester, usually of 2 hours. The difficulty level is obviously high, as the papers are made by IIT professors.

The internship opportunities are there, but you have to be capable to grab that, because at the end of second, many students are generally not that much mature to work in a company. Companies like Google summer research intern, and IIT Gandhinagar 's SSRP provides opportunity to represent your skills. Apart from internships, you can also do project courses under any professor(after getting his/her permission) irrespective of your branch.

Typically in the seventh semester, companies use to come in the campus for the placements. Companies like Amul, Adobe, Barclays, and others use to come here. Highest package of the institution goes around 65 lacs (of course for the CSE branch), and Average stays around 16 lacs. Most of the students have the plan to get a good company at the end of their graduation, and is also my plan.

There is no such increase in fees, since it is established. The fees structure includes 2 lacs of tution fees per year, and 1 lacs of hostel fees per year. Scholarships includes full tution fees waiver in case where family income is less than 3 lacs/year, 2/3 tution fees waiver in the case where family income is less than 8 lacs/year You can apply for teaching assistants, where you will be paid for helping the professors, while continuing your own studies.

There are two main fests happening here at IIT Gandhinagar. One is the tech fest "Amalthea", where the students show their technical skills like high speed drone making. The other is the cultural fest "Blithchron", where many celebs use to come like the Iqlipse Nova, who recently came in the fest. There are plenty to extra-curriculars to do, but the main thing is you will not have time to explore them all, due to the study load.

Room facilities includes lights, fans, ACs, night lamps, and study tables. IIT Gandhinagar has best food rating among all IITs. Menu use to be shared every month by the mess council. There is no such registration for hostels, when you come for the first time here, they will give you the hostel room alloted to you.

Application process including application form, application fees, and important dates is all on jossa website, and jossa council allotes seats for all IIT's, NIT's and some other reputed institutes. Cut off was around 9k rank in Jee Advanced for the Mechanical department. I gave my advanced exam in 2022, which was conducted by IIT Bombay, so of course the difficulty level was high and marks v/s rank went too low.
