Remarks

Used to be a great college, but no more. Corrupted by politics. The principal is careless; he is even not permanent by position. Not good administrative staff. They take quarrels with you. No special efforts towards extraordinary performing students ( maybe in any field ).

Entrance Preview

It has a legacy of being one of the oldest colleges of University of Delhi. Many of my teachers graduated from here & reminded me continuously of the golden time the college had. The science department is still very much reputed & attracts awesome crowd both qualitatively & quantitatively. It has reputed faculty & enough infrastructure to house almost all science courses which DU offers.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

B.Sc life science curriculum is not useful at all. Students have to study Zoology. Botany, Chemistry all 3 as core subjects, ultimately resulting in no expertise in any particular subject. No industry exposure is provided. Nobody can grab a job based on theory. The only option remains for students is to go for MSc then clear NET & further study to Ph.D.

Internships Opportunities

35% to 45% of students got internships. Only a few through college internship fairs. Maximum offers are gained through online portals like Internshala and Interntheory. General stipend 10K a month. Experience - Average. I did a science summer internship zoology department under HOD Sir.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee Structure of my Course Fees 8000 Rs. Per Annum ( Including various charges like Library fees, cultural fund, medical fees, infrastructure fund, educational trip fund, security deposit etc ) Exam Fees 1500 Rs. Per Semester That's it. Completely feasible.

Fees and Financial Aid

A loan is usually not required to pursue any course from Deshbandhu college. Yes, lots of Scholarships exist on merit basis given to students from all categories.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life is awesome. It depends on what type of student you are. If hyperactive societies/clubs are the best places for you. The college has all type of cultural societies with NSS, NCC, Enactus, Placement cell also added. Independent run Student media platform Deshbandhu Express also exists. Cultural Societies include Film Making Oculus Dance - D Squad Music - Timbre Dramatics - DDS & Stageplayers Indian Dance Riwayat Art & Craft - Art Meisters Fashion- Audaz etc Various monthly & annual competitions are organized. Diversity from all over India Exists. The gender ratio is almost 50-50.

Hostel Facilities

3

No Hostel facilities. Hostel which is promised from so many years to so many generations is not materialized yet. Students continuously encounter rumors of hostel money being stolen away by corruption. Student Union fights election again and again on the same issue but doesn't take action after coming to power.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, Seniors are helpful if you yourself are good at communicating with them. If you will not show interest in taking guidance then why they'll help you.

Admission

I got admission by Extra Curricular Activity Quota which is a mixture of merit & my credentials in school activities. I had International level Filmmaking competition participation which led me to a concession of 15% marks on cutoffs. Typically admissions take place on cutoff/merit basis in which different forms of %tages ( like PCM or PCB or Best of 4 ) are considered for admissions.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty is mixed. Some are too good, some are too bad. All are qualified with proper MSc, Ph.D., & NET credentials. Normal blackboard and chalk, PPTs are used for teaching. Exceptional teachers form good bonding with students which makes learning more fun, while some cringe over small matters like marks & indulgence in co-curricular activities. No industry exposure is provided through the curriculum.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of Hansraj College is quite active. You are eligible to sit for campus placement offers from 5th semester onwards. Companies like Deloitte, capgemini arw frequent recruiters for several posts and positions. The highest offered package is somewhere around 22000 with the average being at 700000-800000. Not all students get placed on campus, however thr hands on training and learning makes you industry ready, making you eligible amd worthy to apply for off campus placement opportunities. Many students prefer not to sit for campus placements and rather opt for higher studies after graduation. I plan to do the same after getting my undergraduate degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I think the BSc Statistics (H) offered by Sri Venkateshwara College has been quite relevant and comprehensive in content. The core courses such as probability, inference, regression, and econometrics were the major reasons for opting for the subject of statistics. It provides us in-depth analytical training that is necessary for higher education and work in the field of data, though there is a need for exposure to software/tools as well. The semester-wise examination, which is moderately tough

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is just like any other college, and you need to do a lot of the skill enhancement by yourself. Here, you will learn something, but not everything that is relevant. The professors will teach according to the syllabus, be it really relevant in real life or not. Everything that you will be learning will be relevant for career in this field, but not enough. You require to put some extra efforts to gain more knowledge and practice.

Placement Experience:

Students typically become eligible from 3rd year/6th semester onwards for most companies. Some internships and tech roles may be available to 2nd-year students depending on the company criteria. Placement Percentage: Usually, 70–85% of eligible students get placed, depending on the stream. Highest placement rates are often in Computer Science, Economics, and Commerce streams. My plan is to become a software engineer.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Cource curriculum is highly relevant. It covers fundamental and advanced concepts of zoology , which was the main reason I choose this course. Subjects like human physiology, biochemistry, biomolecules, comparative anatomy of vertebrates, animal behaviour, ...etc. are highly interested and align with my interest. Practical components help in developing and understanding concepts more clearly. However, real world applications is limited. Curriculum prepare students well for further academics for PG or other competitive exams. Exam system is conducted at regular intervals with Internal assessment and semester end. Timings are appropriate . Difficulty level is moderate to high.

The course is not only about stitching and cooking but a lot more than that . It teaches us the most practical and basic part of our life . Their should be more equipment and practical equipment for the practical. There should be more industrial visit for us to learn from practical classes. The frequency and timings of exams are the same as DU .

Hindu College, Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] {Hons.} (Mathematics)
Reviewed on Jan 6, 2026(Enrolled 2025)

Course Curriculum Overview:

For B.Sc (Hons) Mathematics at Hindu College, the curriculum follows the latest DU UGCF?2022 structure, so it covers both strong theory and some modern applications. The main reason to choose this course is the depth in core areas like Calculus, Algebra, Real Analysis, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations and Probability, which builds a very solid base for higher studies like M.Sc, data science or research. There are six semesters with continuous internal assessment plus end?semester exams, so students study regularly instead of only before finals. Exams are usually moderate to difficult because questions are concept?based, but the pattern is fair and gives weightage to assignments, tutorials and attendance. Overall, the course is quite comprehensive and relevant for careers in teaching, analytics, government exams and higher academics, though adding more practical projects, programming and real?life modelling could make it even more industry?oriented
