Remarks

The college management is a mix of both academization and industry experts. The faculty is both approachable and help in most of the genuine cases. I believe they are having a good eye for identifying the talent at the initial stage, but the students should take their own personal initiative which I believe is very important at any stage of life at academic or corporate level.

Entrance Preview

MAT is the entrance exam I took apart from its own entrance exam, although UPES takes people through their own entrance exam and CAT. I scored 90+ in both the exams on the scale of 100. I was having Chemical Engineering as my bachelor's degree, the college is having tailor made programmes for multiple sectors like oil and gas power and energy, which can end up student getting placed in Analytics, Market Research and Consulting apart from other sectors.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum is assessed through books issued from the library and the soft copy material prepared by the university faculty and industry experts in some of the cases. The university is having both normal MBA subjects like marketing, HR and domain specific subjects like gas marketing, oil and gas drilling. They are also having case study base approach in both kinds of subjects. The University website gives the semester wise list of all the subjects.

Internships Opportunities

The college is having a good internship programme structure, they send people to multiple organisations which are industry specific like oil and gas, power, logistics both in the private and government and semi-government sector. Most of the cases there is no stipend being offered.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placements are decent with reaching 90% plus in the top branches of the specific university programmes. The package is in the average ranges of 3.5 lakh to 6.0 lakh. Companies both from the private and government sector offer jobs at the campus. The list can be accessed at the University website.

College Events

2.5

The college holds the PIP at the start of each academic year in which specific agencies are hired who give students a good view of the corporate culture well in advance. The university is having specific sports, cultural and technical events at both the programme and university level.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is a bit on the expensive side, if the students are looking at the immediate ROI, it is not feasible. Although on the long term basis it can be achieved depending on if a student gets the kind of profile he was aiming at when he entered the university at a start of the programme.

Fees and Financial Aid

The university offers fee waiver to top performers of each programme and also to students who are having personal economic issues due to the family problems. they are also having tie up with banks for the facilitation of education loan.

Campus Life

4

The campus is at a village location far from the city. It is located in the hilly areas of lower Himalayas which gives a great sense of scenic beauty. As it is at a village location there are not many flashy things to do around like restaurants or other. They are having good gender ratio apart from the branches which are more related to core fields like chemical or mechanical. Students from all around the country come to the university.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

The hostel facilities are on the expensive side. The food at the mess is of good quality but one should not have great expectations in terms of taste. the mess offers mostly North Indian food, which is of good quality. They do not provide other foods from other parts of India like South. Maybe now the pattern has changed as I am not aware of the new updates.

Alumni/Alumna

The university gives regular updates to its alumni on the development of the campus and students Although, according to me the alumni network is more specific to the departments and their personal reputation with their previous students on one to one basis, rather than at the university level.

Exam Structure

The exam structure is hectic with exams on a continuous basis without a weekend break during the semester end. there are also midterms happening on the above-mentioned basis and surprise tests which are being carried out on regular basis. They are having a bell curve approach which is being followed by the University for final result declaration.

Admission

Once one clears, MAT/CAT/UPES EE you are called for the GD/PI process which happens in multiple locations throughout India. There is a merit list prepared on the basis of academic, entrance exam scores, and GD/PI process. Thus one gets selected for the programmes offered.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty of the college can be assessed both in the classrooms, and their respective places in the faculty building. They are having specific sitting places department wise in separate buildings for multiple courses where any faculty can be approached for clarification for the doubts related to any particular subject.

Federal bank, taj hotel, Techmutant software solutions, cradlewise, patanjali, etc. many more companies are there which visit the campus. There is 60-70% criteria for students to get the placement as 60% are the eligibility criteria for many companies and some companies have 70% eligibility criteria for the placement. Our university has 85% placement in dehradun region as compared to other universities. My plans are taking a good job and work hard to become independent.

Admission:

When you are selected through your CAT you need to pass through the GD and PI round. The topic of GD is related to current affairs and we were given 20 minutes. The PI round was for about 15 minutes and general questions were asked about my academics, my experience etc. I gave some mock interviews which helped me a lot for these rounds.
