Remarks

Nit Durgapur is an old premier institute of engineering. Facilities at NIT Durgapur is awesome in comparison to any other College. NIT DURGAPUR has collaborated with many international institutions for research and development. It is carrying out many numbers of research. Nit Durgapur set up their own ambu ventilator manufacturing facility during pandemic.

Course Curriculum Overview

Faculty student ratio is good. Teaching method is awesome. In my class , for 20 students, 8 teachers are allocated with many subordinate staffs. And faculty are very helping in nature. It has a counselling cell also. It has a NCC, NSS cell. It provide all facilities for sports.

Class Size: 20Course Fees: INR 200000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Yes, Microsoft and Intel selected few students from master for internship. These are paid internship. They offer job after internship. I did not appied for any intership due to my ongoing projects on neural networks. My few colleagues did research internship from IIT KHARAGPUR.

Placement Experience

After 2nd semester, placements are provided for master students. And after 6th semester placements are provided for Bachelor students. Many Bachelor students join CRPF and CISF also. It is due to in campus NCC activities. And nearly all students of B. Tech is placed. Masters students are placed less in number. Many master students go for higher studies.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee Structure is very simple. Everyone has to pay semester wise. You can get loan from inhouse branch of SBI and Canara in college campus. Many scholarships are also available for masters and research students

Campus Life

Nit Durgapur is operating many clubs. It has own gym club. It has own Dance club. It has own Prakriti club. It has own group discussion club. It has own mathematics club. It has own sports playground for different types of sports. All facilities for players are provided. Sometimes airfare are also disbursed to players for going out of Bengal for playing the sports.

Hostel Facilities

Hostels are awesome. Number of canteens are available in the campus, you can choose your own. All canteens are serving different meals. All canteens are also economical. Slighter difference in prices of canteens. Few hostel buildings are old.

Admission

No, I just cleared Gate exam, after that participated in CCMT councelling process. According to your rank you can choose colleges. CCMT Allocated this college to me. Then I submitted all original documents. After proper scrutiny they enrolled me for the programme. After that you have to pay balance fee. Onboarding was very smooth.

Placement Experience:

From Third semester, the students become eligible for campus placements. The companies like P360, EY, Deloitte, Tech Mahindra, Neutanix, BinaryWorks and few more visited our college for placements and mostly 15 to 20 offers were made Highest package was around 5 to 6 lpa 50% students were placed I am now preparing for govt jobs and side by side also applying for offcampuses. The hustles and joys of a college life.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I had chosen this course because of the Media and the lab facility, and my desire to understand the entire course in journalism and mass communication. The course that I took gave a bit more theoretical aspects rather than the practical ones. The practical ones were a bit less compared to theory ones. The areas I would suggest for improvement would be to encourage more assignments and provide more internship facilities to the students. The frequency of the exams for me was okay, and it was moderate, not difficult.

Placement Experience:

Studentsbecome eligible for placements from 7th semester. Various companies such as TCS, Infosys, Accenture, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Godrej, etc. come for placements. Earlier many offers used to come however in the recent years the number of offers made have reduced significantly. highest package comes around 10 to 11 lakhs per annum with average being 4-5 lakhs per annum. I have kept my options open after completion of degree in doing further studies that is Mtech or getting into a job whichever seems appropriate at the situation.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

I applied for multiple NITs During Josaa Counselling but my top 5 suitable choice according to my home location and considering other limiting factors was NIT Rourkela, NIT Silchar, NIT Durgapur, NIT Patna and IIEST Shibpur. Apart from these, I have also Applied for Calcutta University and Jadavpur University. I have got approval from NIT DGP,Calcutta University and Jadavpur University. But I have chosen NIT because of better Placement records and better campus Life. Moreover it's an Institution of of National Importance and Hold a good NIRF rank. So I preferred this choice above others. I wasn't rejected from the above colleges, but simply i didn't get the eligible rank for them. And the 3 which I got, i choosed the best among them. The Admission process of NIT DGP was through Josaa and CSAB counselling. The College and the Branch will be alloted to you according to your rank in the JEE MAINS Examination. The Closing rank of this exam in 2025 of General Category for the lowest Branch in BTech is 63387. The overall admission process for the college, apart from hostel allotment, was completely online. 14-15 documents were to be submitted in pdf format in the specific website provided. I was getting all nits of india and also some iits.The only reasons of not choosing them is branch ,i was getting lower branches in all other colleges so i choose this. I think this was the best college onmy rank. I applied to IIEST Shibpur and was getting ECE there but I chose this college because of its brand name, infrastructure and placement which are all way above shibpur. No I did not get any rejection form college I applied for.
