Remarks

1) This college is near my home, so I can go to my college in very little time. 2) This is a good college in our district. 3) The college has great faculty members. 4) The college has well infrastructure and big ground for sports activities of students. 5) The is located in the centre of the city so traveling systems are well available.

Course Curriculum Overview

It's well updated and syllabus is according to west bengal state university curriculum. The syllabus is friendly to students. All faculty members are quite friendly and they help students in need if they wanna learn. Academic exam system is semester type and it follows wbsu curriculum.

Class Size: 150Course Fees: INR 3000 per year

Placement Experience

There is no specific placement cell. Most of the students opt for higher studies and many of them do their own business.

College Events

Campus Life is good. It's quite enjoyable. You will find lots of extra curricular activities inside the college. There is football and other sports tournament. There is also some political parties in college but it doesn't affect you if you don't let it.

Fees and Financial Aid

I don't know about specific scholarship from my college. But I'd you score above 75% marks in higher secondary exam, then you'll surely get Swami Vivekanand scholarship from West Bengal government.

Campus Life

The infrastructure is quite good with many building. We have a decent Library with about 5000 books. There is also sports opportunities for students and a big football ground. WiFi is available but speed sometimes becomes slow. Overall it's decent. The college is situated in 1947 so it has well labs and all.

Placement Experience:

I'm not sure but I think from 3rd year we will be eligible for placements. There are many finance companies, banks like HDFC, SBI, Canara,etc... & companies like TCS, Wipro, Capgemini, Deloitte, PWC,etc.... The highest package last year was like 9.64 LPA & in the year before it was 10 LPA while the average is around 2-2.5 LPA. Around 20% of the total strength gets placement. Even only few % of the total strength applies for the placements. My plan is to take a placement if I can or if not then off campusing and then gather work experience & do MBA later which will give me very benifits.

From Third semester, the students become eligible for campus placements. The companies like P360, EY, Deloitte, Tech Mahindra, Neutanix, BinaryWorks and few more visited our college for placements and mostly 15 to 20 offers were made Highest package was around 5 to 6 lpa 50% students were placed I am now preparing for govt jobs and side by side also applying for offcampuses. I have also given CUET for pursuing M. Tech

The hustles and joys of a college life.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I had chosen this course because of the Media and the lab facility, and my desire to understand the entire course in journalism and mass communication. The course that I took gave a bit more theoretical aspects rather than the practical ones. The practical ones were a bit less compared to theory ones. The areas I would suggest for improvement would be to encourage more assignments and provide more internship facilities to the students. The frequency of the exams for me was okay, and it was moderate, not difficult.

Studentsbecome eligible for placements from 7th semester. Various companies such as TCS, Infosys, Accenture, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Godrej, etc. come for placements. Earlier many offers used to come however in the recent years the number of offers made have reduced significantly. highest package comes around 10 to 11 lakhs per annum with average being 4-5 lakhs per annum. I have kept my options open after completion of degree in doing further studies that is Mtech or getting into a job whichever seems appropriate at the situation.

Students are eligible for campus placements from 7th sem. The names of comanies visited are TCS, Infosys, Capegimini,Tech mahindra etc. Some students Got 2 offer laters . Highest packages last year was 47 LPA (off Campus) 27LPA ( on campus). Average pakage was 5-6Lpa. The job role is Software Development. Percentage of Students Got placement is 92-95% In my Deoartment. Other is Around 70_90%. My plans to take placement from product based company.

I love computer science so I chose this department. The teaching in this department is very good and the labs are also very good. We have many exams in our semester.It would have been better if we had studied our theory paper a little better. After completing HS if you want to study English at Basirhat college the eligibility for this course is very straight. You have to have a minimum of 50% marks in higher secondary exams. And you can come from science commerce and arts background. College does not take any entrance. The complete admission process is merit-based only. After completing HS(10+2) you have to fill up the form from the college's official website. The merit will be created based on the best of 4 subject marks you have got in HS. The average of 4 subjects plus your Madhyamik exam marks will be deciding factor. The more marks you got the higher your chance of getting admission. 3 years journey in Basirhat College

For the BA General course, you have to pass the West Bengal higher secondary exam with a minimum of 45% marks in class 12. Admission is based on the marks. So 45% marks will not be enough. If you want to study here you have to get a minimum of 60% marks. A lot of seats are available but a lot of students apply every year. More numbers you get in your class 12 marks more chance to appear in merit lists. If you belong to a minority like SC/ST/OBC you have some seats reserved. One more thing supposes if you take geography history & Sanskrit as a general subject you must have these subjects in class 12. The admission form is on our college website. If you want to study BA pass course here the eligibility criteria are very simple. You have to get a minimum of 70% marks in your west Bengal higher secondary final exam. And admission process is directly based on your 12 mark. If you get good marks you will get admission very easily. You can choose the subject while opting for this BA general course. In my case, I have taken Bengali, History & Sanskrit because I had good marks on those subjects in my 12th exam. The application form is completely online. The course eligibility is you have to pass the West Bengal higher secondary exam with a good percentage. We can find the application form on the Basirhat College official website. We have to fill up the application form with class 10th & 12th marks with all other necessary documents. You can choose the subject you want to take. The memory of my 3 years journey in Basirhat College

Eligibility is based on the marks of higher secondary exam. The merit list was created by the best of four subject marks in my HS exam. Application fees is around 1600 rs. And for 2nd year and 3rd year college fees is around 1500. Total college fees is under 5500 Good marks needed for the subject you are taking honours.
