Course Curriculum Overview
I have opted for the B.Sc degree in Computer Science. We have a variety of programming languages and technologies listed in the course curriculum. Most of the subjects falling under the course are practical based, especially the papers on Computer Science.
Placement Experience
Every year, around 50% of the B.Sc Computer Science batch gets placed. The stipend offered ranges from Rs 7000 a month to Rs 15,000 a month, with most people getting Rs 1.2 Lakh per annum packages. The companies that generally recruit from our college are AGS and Global.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The B.Sc course is a 3 year, full-time course. The fees per year is Rs 28,000 sans hostel and mess charges. The total tuition fee for three years is billed at Rs 84,000, which is quite reasonable. In the absence of means, you may opt for an education loan offered by the university.
Fees and Financial Aid
Our college is listed under Thiruvalluvar University which offers good education loan options. For B.Sc, you can opt for a loan scheme in which you will have to pay Rs 765- 1244 every month for a period of 4 years.
Campus Life
There are multiple facilities available for extracurricular activities. We have a gym used for a few sporting events hosted and an auditorium which holds events like inductions and convocations. The male to female ratio is high but there is diversity in economic background and ethnicity of students.
Admission
Everybody who has cleared their 10+2 examinations is eligible for the prestigious B.Sc course at Voorhees. I was placed in their first shortlist in accordance with my marks. Voorhees does not conduct any entrance exam and solely considers 10+2 percentile for UG admissions.
Faculty
All of the faculty in our college have postgraduate degrees to their name and quite a few of them can get you hooked to the subjects they are teaching. However the modus operandi of the other teachers is not very appealing.
