Remarks

No such negative remarks about the college. The college strives to bring out the best in the student providing all the facilities that he/she require and providing a platform to showcase their talents.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course is divided into three parts for three years starting with the basics for the students to understand better and also to help weak students cope up with the difficulty of studying chemistry. Exams are held periodically and small tests are taken by the teachers when required.

Placement Experience

4

Since it is not a private college, it doesn't provides internship or promises one of providing job opportunities. But a student with a good percentage in his/her respective subject, graduating from this college, will be eligible enough to go for higher studies. Placements might come for bank related jobs.

College Events

5

Important functions and seminars are held on a regular basis. Celebrations like onam and Christmas takes place. Along with this, Fresher's day celebration and farewell to the seniors do take place too.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees structure is not at all expensive as it is a government college. No big amount or donation is to be paid during the time of admission. The only fees required be paid is the semester fees which is approximately Rs.1000 or more. Along with this, an exam fees needs to be paid which may be of Rs.500 or 700, as it keeps on changing.

Fees and Financial Aid

Mannam Nidhi Loan Scholarship is provided by the Nair Service Society to P.G. students whose annual income does not exceed Rs.15,000/- and who secures more than 60% marks in the qualifying examination. Application form and other details can be had from the office of the Secretary. And for the undergraduate course there is no need of loan as the fees structure is affordable.

Hostel Facilities

5

I haven't applied for hostel as my home is near to the college. I can travel daily. As for the people coming from far away, there are hostels available for men and women separately which provides good atmosphere and water and food facilities.

Alumni/Alumna

Senior students are very helpful. Starting from helping any students of their departments stuck with a problem in their respective subjects to participating together in various events, they help to a great extent. The alumni Network is too strong and well maintained. Some of them are - Govt. Brennen College Old Students Assocaition( Estd. 1978).BRENNENITES( Alumni of 1960-70 Batches),BREATHE( Brennen Assocaition of Thalassery Emigrants),BRENNEN G'79,BAG( Brennen Alumni Global), Brennen Old Students(Pre Degree 1973-75) .

5

There are ten teaching staff in the Department, three holding PhD degree and four pursuing their PhD. There are two non-teaching staffs in the Department. Altogether 320 students are studying in this Department. The Department has a prestigious tradition of high examination results every year. I choosed this degree for me to pursue higher studies in uk or foreign country to study cosmetics related field. So for that bsc chemistry degree must have But this curriculum doesn't teach something base to that I think so.. For further studies the teachers need improvement to teach certain topics some teachers didn't even prepare to study students and lab safety is not in the lab.Because of the teaching the portions are done in last minutes and often exams are difficult in major subjects so they need to improve their study methods and often approach students nicely..

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is almost best. Curriculum doesn't influenced me in deciding this course. Curriculum should add internships. Currently there is no mandatory internship, if students are interested they can do internship during vacations. As we are learning psychology which need to be practiced in real world settings, curriculum must include real world training to help students understand things more effectively. Currently intervel between exams are non existent. Internal exams, then semester exams, you blink once, next internal exams, followed by semester exams. Syllabus is understandable, can learn if you try. Exams are also manageable. Real world examples and stories can be included in teaching methods, as psychology is related to humans and human interaction, to get better grasp of concepts. Rather than focusing on passing exam, should focus on the concepts and understand them in-depth. There are a lot of theories to study by heart. And there are many repetitive topics that overlap, but in different semesters.

I feel in love with mathematics in plus two time. The coursee are more application based when compared to other. Out college being an autonomous college has good grip to keep up to the level of good education. Overall teaching methods and syllabus are very good. Frequency of exams are troublesome during the last time of year because all the programmes like youth festival annual day etc come together

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Bsc electronics, it has an attractive curriculum and some of them are influenced me in some way. The facilities are well-known about the curriculum preparing and all. The current curriculum is good but it needs some changes. Include more practicals is one of my suggestion. Teaching methods are good it doesn't need any change. Exams are conducted by Kerala University, so the college can't do anything in main exams but the college will complete all the portions before the exam date it is sure.
