National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued biometric exception advisory for NEET UG 2026. Exam scheduled May 3, 2026. Biometric verification mandatory before exam room entry.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an important advisory regarding biometric verification for NEET UG 2026 examination scheduled on May 3, 2026. The advisory clarifies the procedure for candidates who face biometric verification issues at the examination centre. Biometric verification is mandatory for all candidates before entry into the examination room after the frisking process. However, NTA has provided provisions for candidates who cannot complete biometric verification due to technical or physical reasons.
According to the advisory, if biometric verification cannot be completed due to device hardware failure, poor quality of biometric data, connectivity failure with UIDAI, or physical inability to provide biometric data, candidates will still be permitted to enter the examination room. However, they must submit a written undertaking at the examination centre. The format for this undertaking will be provided by the examination centre authorities on the day of the exam.

Important Biometric Guidelines
Candidates are strongly advised to update their Aadhaar biometric details in advance to avoid any verification-related issues at the examination centre. According to UIDAI guidelines, it is essential to get Aadhaar biometrics updated when a child turns 15 years old. Candidates should ensure their fingerprints and iris scans are clear and properly registered with UIDAI. This proactive step will help ensure smooth biometric verification during the examination.

Exam Day Procedures
On May 3, 2026, candidates will undergo frisking process followed by mandatory biometric verification before entering the examination room. The examination will be conducted from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM (up to 6:00 PM for PwD/PwBD candidates). Candidates will NOT be disturbed during the examination period for any biometric process. All biometric verification must be completed before the examination begins.

What Candidates Should Carry?
Candidates must carry their NEET UG 2026 admit card along with valid photo identification to the examination centre. Valid photo IDs include Aadhaar card, Passport, Driving License, or PAN Card. Candidates should also carry the self-declaration form as per NTA guidelines. Arrive at the examination centre well in advance to complete all verification procedures smoothly.
Important Reminders
Candidates should not panic if they face biometric verification issues as NTA has made provisions for such situations. The written undertaking process ensures that no candidate is denied examination entry due to technical failures. However, candidates are advised to update their Aadhaar biometric details immediately to avoid any complications. For any queries, candidates can contact NTA helpdesk through the official website nta.ac.in.
