What Comes Next in the Counselling Process?
Seat allotment for MDS programmes runs through two parallel streams. The MCC handles 50 percent All India Quota (AIQ) seats, central universities, deemed universities, and ESIC institutions. The remaining 50 percent State Quota seats are filled by the respective state counselling authorities.
The AIQ stream is conducted in two regular rounds, followed by a mop-up round for deemed and central seats. Candidates must register separately on the MCC portal for AIQ seats and on their state counselling portal for state seats. The official MCC counselling schedule for NEET MDS 2026 is awaited.
Eligibility for MDS Counselling
To take part in counselling, a candidate must hold a BDS degree from a Dental Council of India recognised institute. A valid NEET MDS 2026 scorecard above the qualifying cutoff is mandatory. The candidate must also complete the 12-month rotating internship by the cutoff date set by MCC.
The scorecard is the single mandatory proof of qualification for MDS admissions. Without it, no candidate can register on the MCC or state counselling portals. Keep both digital and printed copies safe for every counselling round.
