What is JAC Delhi 2026?
JAC Delhi stands for Joint Admission Counselling, Delhi. It is a centralized counselling authority set up by the Government of NCT of Delhi in 2014 to give students a single platform for B.Tech and B.Arch admissions at all five government-funded technical universities in Delhi. Before JAC Delhi, students had to approach each institution separately for counselling — JAC ended that by making one registration sufficient for access to all five colleges.
Admissions are entirely based on your JEE Main 2026 Common Rank List (CRL) rank, your category, your domicile (Delhi region or outside Delhi), and the preferences you fill during choice filling. There is no separate JAC Delhi entrance exam.

After Round 4, JAC Delhi may conduct an online spot round if seats remain vacant. Spot round dates are announced after Round 4 reporting is complete. The spot round requires physical presence with original documents and a Demand Draft — online payment is not accepted for spot round seat acceptance.
JAC Delhi 2026 Eligibility Criteria
To participate in JAC Delhi 2026 counselling, you must meet three sets of requirements — academic qualifications, JEE Main 2026 performance, and domicile conditions. All three must be satisfied at the same time.
Academic Qualifications for B.Tech
For DTU, NSUT, IGDTUW, and DSEU, you need:
- Minimum 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in Class 12 (or equivalent)
- You must have passed each of the three subjects individually — aggregate alone is not enough
- English must be one of your Class 12 subjects
- SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PwD, and Defence/CW candidates get a relaxation of 5 to 10 percentage points on the 60% requirement
For IIIT-Delhi, the eligibility bar is slightly higher:
- Minimum 70% aggregate in the best five subjects from Class 12, including Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics
- Minimum 70% in Mathematics individually, not just in aggregate
Eligibility for B.Arch
For B.Arch at IGDTUW (the only JAC Delhi institution offering B.Arch):
- Minimum 50% aggregate in Class 12 with Mathematics as a subject
- Valid JEE Main 2026 Paper 2 score or a valid NATA score
JEE Main 2026 Requirement
You must have a valid rank in the JEE Main 2026 Common Rank List (CRL). There is no separate minimum percentile cut-off just to participate in JAC Delhi 2026 — your rank determines which seats open up to you. For B.Tech, you need a JEE Main Paper 1 rank. For B.Arch, you need a Paper 2 rank.
Domicile Conditions
JAC Delhi splits all seats into two regional categories:
- Delhi Region (85% of seats): You qualify if you completed your Class 12 from a school located within the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi. Your school’s location decides this — not your home address or Aadhaar address.
- Outside Delhi Region (15% of seats): Open to all candidates from anywhere in India — including Noida, Gurgaon, Faridabad, and every other state and union territory.
If you studied Class 12 from a school in Delhi but live outside Delhi, you still qualify for the Delhi region quota. School location is what matters, not your residential address.
IGDTUW is open only to women. All other participating colleges — DTU, NSUT, IIIT-Delhi, and DSEU — are open to candidates of all genders. There is no minimum or maximum age limit for JAC Delhi 2026.
JAC Delhi 2026 Registration and Choice Filling
JAC Delhi 2026 registration opened on May 28, 2026, at 10:00 AM and closes today — June 9, 2026 at 11:30 PM. The entire registration and choice filling process is online at jacdelhi.admissions.nic.in.
How to Register for JAC Delhi 2026
- Visit jacdelhi.admissions.nic.in and click on the registration link
- Enter your JEE Main 2026 application number and date of birth to create an account
- Fill in your personal details, contact information, and academic details from Class 10 and Class 12
- Upload a recent passport-size photograph and signature as per the specified dimensions
- Pay the non-refundable registration fee of ₹1,500 via Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, UPI, or SBI Cash Challan
- Note down your JAC Delhi application number and password for future logins
How to Fill Choices in JAC Delhi 2026
Choice filling is the single most critical step in the entire JAC Delhi counselling process. You create a ranked list of college-branch combinations in order of your preference, and JAC uses this list to allot you the best available seat based on your rank.
- Log in with your application number and password
- Navigate to the choice filling section and search for college-branch combinations
- Add every combination you would be genuinely willing to join — there is no limit and no penalty for adding more choices
- Arrange your choices from most preferred to least preferred
- Click Lock Choices once you are satisfied with your list — this step is mandatory
If you do not lock your choices manually, they will be auto-locked at 11:30 PM tonight. However, manual locking is recommended to avoid any last-minute technical issues. Once locked, choices cannot be changed before Round 1 allotment.
JAC opens a brief choice editing window (June 26–28, 2026) before Round 2 allotment. Candidates who participate in Round 2 can update their preferences during this window based on their Round 1 allotment experience.
JAC Delhi 2026 Round 1 Seat Allotment
JAC Delhi 2026 Round 1 seat allotment result will be declared on June 15, 2026. This is the first of four regular allotment rounds, and for many candidates — especially those with strong ranks and well-planned choices — it can also be the final one.
How the Allotment Engine Works
JAC uses a preference-based, merit-cum-choice algorithm to allot seats. Here is how it works:
- The system starts from the top of your preference list and moves down choice by choice
- At each choice, it checks whether you are eligible for that seat — based on your category, domicile, and JEE Main rank
- It allots you the highest-ranked seat (closest to the top of your list) where a vacancy exists at the time of processing
- Candidates with better JEE Main CRL ranks have priority over those with lower ranks for the same seat
This means the order of your choices matters more than their total number. A well-ordered list with 80 choices gives you better chances than a poorly ordered list with 20.
What to Do After Round 1 Allotment (June 15)
After checking your allotment on June 15, you have three options — choose one within your designated reporting window:
- Freeze: Accept the allotted seat and stop participating in further rounds. Pay ₹95,000 as the seat acceptance fee and report to the college on your designated reporting date. This is the right choice if you are happy with what you got.
- Float: Keep your current allotment as a guaranteed backup but continue in Round 2, hoping for a better college or branch. If Round 2 gives you a higher-preference seat, your Round 1 seat is automatically released and given to the next eligible candidate. If not, you keep your Round 1 seat. This is the right choice when you want to try for something better without losing what you have.
- Withdraw: Cancel your allotment entirely and exit the JAC Delhi 2026 process. The ₹95,000 seat acceptance fee is refunded as per JAC Delhi’s refund policy if withdrawal is done before the applicable cut-off date. Choose this only if you are certain you do not want any seat through JAC Delhi 2026.
If you do not respond within your reporting window — neither paying the fee nor choosing to withdraw — your allotment is automatically cancelled.
Round 1 Reporting Dates by Category
| Category | Reporting Date |
|---|---|
| OBC — JEE CRL below 80,000 | June 17, 2026 |
| OBC — JEE CRL above 80,000 | June 18, 2026 |
| SG, GEN/OBC/ST/SC/EWS (Outside Delhi), CW, KM, PD | June 22–23, 2026 |
| General Category — JEE CRL up to 25,000 | June 24, 2026 |
| General Category — JEE CRL above 25,000; Seat Freezing Deadline | June 25, 2026 |
Reporting means physically visiting your allotted college, submitting original documents, paying tuition fees (adjusted against the ₹95,000 seat acceptance fee already paid), and completing all admission formalities.

JAC Delhi 2026 Cutoff: Previous Year Trends
JAC Delhi 2026 cutoff ranks have not been released yet — they will emerge progressively after each allotment round, starting June 15. To help you plan your choice list, here are the JAC Delhi 2025 Round 1 closing ranks for the most popular colleges and branches. Use these to set realistic expectations for 2026.
The data below is from JAC Delhi 2025 and is meant as a planning reference only. JAC Delhi 2026 cutoffs will be updated after each allotment round.
DTU Cutoff 2025 — Round 1 Closing Rank (General, Delhi Quota)
| Branch | JEE CRL Closing Rank (Round 1, 2025) |
|---|---|
| Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) | 6,105 |
| CSE (Data Science and Analytics) | 7,283 |
| Information Technology (IT) | 9,456 |
| Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) | 16,406 – 16,466 |
| Mechanical Engineering | 35,556 |
| Civil Engineering | 45,192 |
NSUT Cutoff 2025 — Round 1 Closing Rank (General, Delhi Quota)
| Branch | JEE CRL Closing Rank (Round 1, 2025) |
|---|---|
| CSE (Artificial Intelligence) | 2,922 |
| Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) | 4,889 |
| Information Technology (IT) | 9,845 |
| Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) | 18,031 |
IIIT-Delhi Cutoff 2025 — Round 1 Closing Rank (General)
| Branch | JEE CRL Equivalent (Round 1, 2025) |
|---|---|
| CSE (Artificial Intelligence) | ~2,699 |
| Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) | ~4,351 |
| Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) | ~16,960 |
IGDTUW Cutoff 2025 — Round 1 Closing Rank (General Category)
| Branch | Delhi Quota Closing Rank | Outside Delhi Closing Rank |
|---|---|---|
| Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) | 42,200 | 12,437 |
| Information Technology (IT) | 56,271 | 16,659 |
| Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) | 68,722 | 18,919 |
IGDTUW’s Delhi quota closing ranks appear numerically higher because only female candidates from Delhi schools compete for those seats — a smaller and more specific pool than the general JEE Main CRL. The outside Delhi closing rank is tighter (lower number) because all-India women candidates compete for just 15% of IGDTUW’s total seats.

Cutoff Trend: 2024 vs 2025
In 2025, closing ranks for CSE at DTU and NSUT tightened by roughly 2,000 to 3,000 ranks compared to 2024. This happened because more candidates appeared for JEE Main 2025 and competition for AI-linked CS branches grew significantly. For JAC Delhi 2026, expect similar or slightly tighter cutoffs for CSE, CSE (AI), and CSE (Data Science) branches. ECE, Mechanical, and Civil branches tend to be more stable year over year.
JAC Delhi 2026 Counselling Process: Step by Step
The JAC Delhi 2026 counselling process runs from late May to late July 2026. Here is what each step involves, in the order it happens:
- Step 1 — Online Registration: Visit jacdelhi.admissions.nic.in, log in using your JEE Main 2026 credentials, fill personal and academic details, upload a photograph and signature, and pay ₹1,500 as the registration fee. (Window: May 28 – June 9, 2026)
- Step 2 — Choice Filling and Locking: Build your preference list by selecting and ranking college-branch combinations. Add as many choices as possible. Lock your choices before June 9, 11:30 PM. Unlocked choices are auto-locked at the deadline.
- Step 3 — Document Verification (Defence/KM): Candidates in the Defence and Kashmiri Migrant categories complete online document verification on June 10, 2026. Other category candidates verify documents during physical reporting at the college.
- Step 4 — Round 1 Allotment (June 15): JAC releases the Round 1 allotment result. Log in and check your allotted college and branch. Review whether the allotment meets your expectations.
- Step 5 — Seat Acceptance Fee Payment: If you decide to freeze or float, pay ₹95,000 online as the seat acceptance fee. This is mandatory before reporting to the college.
- Step 6 — Physical Reporting at College: Visit your allotted college on your category’s designated reporting date with all original documents and the fee receipt. Complete admission formalities including document submission and tuition fee payment.
- Step 7 — Freeze, Float, or Withdraw: Communicate your post-Round 1 decision to JAC. Candidates who choose to float continue in Round 2 with their current allotment as a safety net.
- Step 8 — Rounds 2, 3, and 4: Subsequent rounds follow the same allotment and reporting cycle. Round 2 allotment is on July 1, Round 3 on July 7, and Round 4 on July 14. Between rounds, a brief choice editing window opens for those continuing in the process.
- Step 9 — Upgradation Round: After Round 4, an upgradation round (July 20–21, 2026) allows candidates to move to a better branch within the same college if a vacancy exists.
- Step 10 — Spot Round (If Conducted): If seats remain vacant after all five rounds, JAC conducts a spot round. This requires physical presence at the designated venue with original documents and a Demand Draft of ₹95,000.
The total counselling cycle from registration to final admission takes approximately two months. Most candidates complete the process by Round 2 or Round 3.
JAC Delhi 2026 Seat Acceptance and Reporting
After the Round 1 allotment on June 15, you must pay the seat acceptance fee and physically report to your allotted college. Reporting is not optional — missing it without selecting float or withdraw results in automatic cancellation of your allotment.
Seat Acceptance Fee
The seat acceptance fee for JAC Delhi 2026 is ₹95,000, payable online through the JAC Delhi portal after accepting your allotment. This amount is not a separate charge — it is later adjusted against your first-semester tuition fees when you take formal admission at the college. If you withdraw before the stipulated refund deadline, the fee is refunded as per JAC Delhi’s refund policy.
What to Bring for Physical Reporting
- Printout of the Round 1 allotment letter
- Printout of the seat acceptance fee payment receipt
- Original documents (Class 10 and 12 marksheets, JEE Main 2026 scorecard, category certificates as applicable)
- Six recent passport-size photographs
- Identity proof (Aadhaar Card recommended)
Approximate First-Year Tuition Fees (2025 Reference)
| College | Approx. Annual Tuition Fee |
|---|---|
| Delhi Technological University (DTU) | ₹2,69,700 |
| Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT) | ₹2,70,000 |
| Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW) | ₹1,68,000 |
| Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT-Delhi) | ₹4,50,000 |
These are approximate fee figures based on 2025 data. Confirm the exact 2026 fee structure at the time of reporting directly with your allotted college.
IGDTUW charges lower tuition compared to DTU and NSUT primarily because it receives additional government funding as a women-only institution. IIIT-Delhi’s higher fee reflects its autonomous status and research infrastructure. DSEU fee structure is expected to be announced separately — check their official website for 2026 fee details.
JAC Delhi 2026 Category-wise Reservation
JAC Delhi 2026 uses a two-tier reservation structure. First, all seats are split between two regional quotas. Then, within each regional quota, seats are further divided across social categories through vertical reservations.
Regional Quota Split
| Region | Seat Share | Who Qualifies |
|---|---|---|
| Delhi Region | 85% | Candidates who passed Class 12 from a school physically located within NCT of Delhi |
| Outside Delhi Region | 15% | All other candidates from anywhere in India |
Category-wise Reservation Within Each Regional Quota
| Category | Reservation Percentage |
|---|---|
| OBC-NCL (Other Backward Classes, Non-Creamy Layer) | 27% |
| SC (Scheduled Caste) | 15% |
| ST (Scheduled Tribe) | 7.5% |
| EWS (Economically Weaker Section) | 10% |
| General / Unreserved | ~40.5% |
Horizontal Reservations
Horizontal reservations apply across all vertical categories:
- PwD (Person with Disability): 5% horizontal reservation across all categories
- Defence / Children of War Widows (CW): Reserved seats as per Delhi Government norms
- Kashmiri Migrants (KM): Reserved seats as per Government of India norms
- Supernumerary (SG): For specially designated government nominees
OBC-NCL certificates must be in the central government format. For the Delhi region quota, a Delhi-issued OBC certificate is required — a central OBC certificate alone is not sufficient for the Delhi OBC sub-category. EWS certificates must be issued by a competent authority and dated after April 1, 2026. SC and ST certificates can be issued by the respective state government’s competent authority.
IGDTUW is exclusively for women. Every seat at IGDTUW — across all categories, both Delhi and outside Delhi quotas — is reserved for female candidates only.
JAC Delhi 2026 Fees
JAC Delhi 2026 involves two fee payments — a non-refundable registration fee and a refundable seat acceptance fee. Here is a complete overview:
| Fee Component | Amount | Refundable? | When to Pay |
|---|---|---|---|
| Registration-cum-Counselling Fee | ₹1,500 + applicable transaction charges | No | During registration (by June 9, 2026) |
| Seat Acceptance Fee | ₹95,000 | Yes (adjusted against 1st semester tuition) | After accepting allotment (from June 15 onwards) |
The ₹1,500 registration fee is fixed and cannot be waived for any category. The ₹95,000 seat acceptance fee is later adjusted against the tuition fees you pay at your allotted college — so it is effectively an advance tuition payment, not an extra charge. If you withdraw your seat within the stipulated deadline, a portion of this amount is refunded per JAC Delhi’s published refund policy.
Accepted payment modes for all online payments: Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, UPI, and SBI Cash Challan. For the spot round (if conducted), the seat acceptance fee must be paid via Demand Draft only — online payment is not accepted for spot round admissions.
JAC Delhi 2026 Documents Required
You need to bring original documents along with two sets of photocopies for physical reporting at your allotted college. Incomplete documentation can delay or reject your admission. Here is the complete list:
- JAC Delhi 2026 registration form printout — download from the portal after registration
- Locked choices printout — download from the portal after locking choices
- JEE Main 2026 Admit Card
- JEE Main 2026 Score Card and Rank Card
- Class 10 Marksheet and Passing Certificate — serves as age and name proof
- Class 12 Marksheet and Passing Certificate
- Seat Allotment Letter — download from the JAC Delhi portal after Round 1 result (June 15)
- Seat Acceptance Fee Payment Receipt — printout of the ₹95,000 payment confirmation
- Category Certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS) — must be in the prescribed format issued by a competent authority; EWS certificate must be dated after April 1, 2026
- Delhi OBC Certificate — if claiming the Delhi OBC sub-category under the Delhi regional quota
- PwD Certificate — if applicable, from the competent medical authority
- Defence / Kashmiri Migrant Certificate — if applicable
- Medical Fitness Certificate — from a registered medical practitioner
- Migration or Transfer Certificate — from your Class 12 school or previous institution
- 6 recent passport-size photographs
- Original identity proof — Aadhaar Card is recommended; PAN Card or Passport also accepted
Bring original documents along with two photocopies of each. Originals are returned after verification. Some colleges may ask for additional documents specific to their admission process — confirm the exact list with your allotted college before your reporting date.
Tips to Fill JAC Delhi 2026 Choices Wisely
Your choice list determines which seat you get. A well-built list can get you into a college that your raw JEE rank alone might not suggest. Here are the most important strategies — especially relevant since the deadline is tonight:
- Add as many choices as possible: There is no cap on choices and no penalty for adding more. Every extra choice is another chance. Add every college-branch you would realistically join, even if you consider it a backup.
- Order by your true preference, not by safety: Put your actual first choice at the top of the list. JAC gives you the best available seat from the top down. If your real first choice is DTU CSE but you put NSUT IT at the top out of caution, you may end up with NSUT IT even when DTU CSE was available for your rank.
- Use 2025 cutoff data as your benchmark: The cutoff tables in this article show which branches are in your range and which are aspirational. Include both — aspirational choices at the top, realistic ones below.
- Understand your regional quota advantage: If you studied Class 12 from a Delhi school, you compete against a much smaller pool for 85% of all seats. Use this advantage — fill many Delhi-quota choices before outside-Delhi options.
- Do not ignore ECE and IT branches: If your rank does not reach the top CSE branches at DTU and NSUT, ECE and IT at these colleges offer strong placements and industry recognition. They are worth including below CSE in your preference list.
- Think carefully before skipping IGDTUW (if you are a woman): IGDTUW’s Delhi-quota closing ranks appear high numerically but that is because the eligible pool is small. The college is fully government-funded, offers strong technical programs, and has an active placement cell.
- Check IIIT-Delhi eligibility before adding it: IIIT-Delhi requires 70% aggregate in the best five Class 12 subjects and 70% in Mathematics separately. If you meet this, add IIIT-Delhi’s top branches near the front of your list — its CSE AI and CSE cutoffs at approximately 2,699–4,351 (CRL) make it highly competitive.
- Lock before 11:30 PM tonight: Do not rely on auto-locking. Log in, confirm your list is correct, and click Lock Choices before 11:30 PM on June 9, 2026. Server load increases near deadlines — finish early.

- Float: Keep your current seat as a backup and continue in the next round trying for a better allotment. If the next round gives you a higher-preference seat, your old seat is released. If not, you keep your current one.
- Withdraw: Cancel your allotment and exit the process. The ₹95,000 seat acceptance fee is refunded (partially or fully) if done within the stipulated refund date.
Ques. Can candidates from outside Delhi apply for JAC Delhi 2026?
Ans. Yes, candidates from outside Delhi can apply. However, they compete only for the outside Delhi quota, which covers 15% of total seats. This is significantly more competitive because all-India candidates fight for a small pool. Delhi-region candidates — those who completed Class 12 from a school in NCT of Delhi — have access to 85% of seats. Check your Class 12 school’s location to determine your regional category.
Ques. How many rounds are there in JAC Delhi 2026 counselling?
Ans. JAC Delhi 2026 has four regular allotment rounds — Round 1 (June 15), Round 2 (July 1), Round 3 (July 7), and Round 4 (July 14) — followed by one upgradation round on July 20–21, 2026. If seats remain vacant after all five rounds, a spot round may also be conducted. Candidates can continue in successive rounds by choosing the float option after each allotment.
Ques. What is the registration fee and seat acceptance fee for JAC Delhi 2026?
Ans. The JAC Delhi 2026 registration-cum-counselling fee is ₹1,500 (plus transaction charges) and is non-refundable. The seat acceptance fee is ₹95,000, paid online after you accept your allotment. This ₹95,000 is later adjusted against your first semester tuition fees at the allotted college — it is not an extra charge on top of tuition. The seat acceptance fee is partially or fully refundable if you withdraw before the stipulated deadline, as per JAC Delhi’s refund policy.
Ques. Can I change my choices after locking in JAC Delhi 2026?
Ans. No — once you lock your choices for Round 1 (deadline: June 9, 11:30 PM), you cannot change them before the June 15 allotment. However, JAC Delhi opens a brief choice editing window from June 26 to 28, 2026, before Round 2 allotment. Candidates who continue in the process can update their preferences during this window. This is why filling your Round 1 choices carefully and completely before tonight’s deadline matters so much.
Ques. Is IGDTUW only for girls in JAC Delhi 2026?
Ans. Yes. IGDTUW (Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women) is exclusively for female candidates. All its B.Tech and B.Arch seats — across every category and both regional quotas — are reserved for women only. Male candidates cannot be allotted a seat at IGDTUW through JAC Delhi 2026. All other participating colleges — DTU, NSUT, IIIT-Delhi, and DSEU — are open to candidates of all genders.
Ques. What documents are needed for physical reporting in JAC Delhi 2026?
Ans. For physical reporting at your allotted college after Round 1 allotment, bring originals and two photocopies of: JEE Main 2026 admit card and scorecard, Class 10 and 12 marksheets and passing certificates, seat allotment letter, seat acceptance fee receipt, category certificate if applicable (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwD), six recent passport-size photographs, medical fitness certificate, and Aadhaar Card or other identity proof. Confirm the exact document list with your specific college before the reporting date.
Ques. What happens if I do not report to my allotted college on the reporting date?
Ans. If you do not report to your allotted college during your designated reporting window and also do not choose to withdraw, your Round 1 allotment is automatically cancelled. The seat is released back to the pool for subsequent rounds. If you paid the ₹95,000 seat acceptance fee but fail to report without formally withdrawing, refund eligibility depends on JAC Delhi’s published refund policy. To avoid losing the fee, always formally communicate your choice — freeze, float, or withdraw — within the reporting window.
