The Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) programme at BSAMCH is a 5.5-year undergraduate medical degree (4.5 years of academic study + 1 year of compulsory rotating internship), offered by this government medical college established in 2016 by the Government of NCT of Delhi. Affiliated with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) and recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC), BSAMCH offers 125 MBBS seats per year. The annual tuition fee is Rs. 1,14,500 for the first year (including refundable security) and Rs. 1,04,500 per year thereafter for AIQ students, while Delhi State Quota students pay Rs. 83,000 per year. Admission is entirely through NEET UG scores, with 15% seats under All India Quota (MCC counselling) and 85% under Delhi State Quota (GGSIPU counselling). The programme is conducted in full-time on-campus mode and is highly popular due to its government status, Delhi location, strong clinical exposure at the attached 540-bedded hospital, and the GGSIPU internal PG quota advantage.

Admissions for the 2026-27 session will be based on NEET UG 2026, scheduled for May 3, 2026. MCC counselling for AIQ seats is expected to begin in July 2026 after results are declared. The 2025-26 admission session has been completed, with MCC Round 1 registration starting July 21, 2025, and GGSIPU counselling running through November 2025.

BSAMCH: Students' Opinion

AI-Generated Summary based on 11 Reviews

The 5-year MBBS program at the Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Delhi, requires NEET exam qualification for admission. Applicants need to apply online, meeting a 40% minimum percentile for ST/SC/OBC and 50% for the UR category, and must have at least 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at the 10+2 level. The faculty is highly qualified, fostering a supportive learning environment with a generally good 1:30 teacher-student ratio. However, clinical subjects and some departments like biochemistry face staffing challenges.

The college offers comprehensive practical labs and frequent internal exams, though around 30% of students do not pass. The annual tuition for All India Quota students is Rs. 1,01,000, with additional fees bringing yearly costs to approximately Rs. 4.65 lakhs, higher than other government colleges. Scholarships and fee waivers are available based on merit and category. Internship placements last a year, providing substantial clinical exposure with stipends ranging from Rs.

15,000 to Rs. 30,000. While traditional placements aren't part of the MBBS program, the college supports students in securing positions or further studies. The fee structure varies, with the first year costing 114,000 INR and subsequent years 104,000 INR. The Delhi government offers scholarships for eligible students, with an 80% fee reduction for those with a ration card and over 60% exam scores. Overall, the program provides substantial educational and career support, though its fee structure is notably higher than comparable institutions.
